Imagine being a car and you just capture one space then turn around only to realize you are now going back to the one square that you captured, THEN you again turn around and realize you are in a loop

I like this nice idea. An old idea with a complete different implementation I don't like, what the vehicles most of the time were very close together or stuck. Maybe you remove the big turn and let the direction change if a vehicle pass an arrow (maybe a short time after the pass, so an other vehicle can follow)

I noticed right at the start blue was basically just stuck to one corner while red had free reign. Might have been better if arrows were grouped in different colours and have a random ball drop to determine which group of arrows to change. Having them all change at the same time meant there were set patterns. Much better with some randomness.

You can use planets to battle. The canons are going to be stars. If a planet is moving at the speed of 5 pixels per second, both planets are gonna be subtracted even if they are on the same team. If a planet is moving to another planet at the speed of less than 5 pixels per second, and the smaller one is less than half the power of the bigger one, the smaller one will start orbiting the bigger one even if they are not in the same team.
