At one time in Nashville, TN, the city required ANY work of this type, to have a police car on site with blue lights flashing simply to protect workers. Seemed like overkill at the time, but was obviously, a good decision.

where I live there is always a cop with lights flashing as they do work.

Since this late summer thru now in the town where I live, they have been doing ton of work/updating most of the traffic lights on the main drag that goes thru one end of town to the other end of town. Quite often they do have police officers there keeping an eye out just watching us traffic going thru the intersections while they are working.

Glad nobody was hurt! Just a reminder of how dangerous the job actually can be. I've physically been injured twice on the job. First time I was hit by an SUV on an off ramp while doing lighting repairs. Second time I was hit by a semi while in the air changing a green LED.

Maybe it time to treat distracted driving the same as a DUI with all the associated costs and penalties. My biggest concern is how will self driving technology deal with a "floating" work zone - a zone that is there today and gone tomorrow as oppose to a regular reconstruction type zone that last several months at a time.

Hi there. Have you given any thought to when pouring cement around pullbox to use duct tape?!!. I use duct tape to cover up the gaps between the pullbox and the lid along with covering up the anchor bolt holes and the lift tab holes too. After pouring and dressing up the concrete, I remove the duct tape. Walla, a clean pullbox, no cleaning up of cement.

Since when is someone almost hitting a controller news? That''s a daily occurrence on most sites and if it isn't on yours, you are blessed and need to know it. Please mate, don't do titles like that, it makes people think that it's a rare occurrence whereas in reality controllers are on the edge of death every single day. Your clickbait headline does us a disservice by making it look like that sort of near miss is far rareer than it is, Stop trying to make money at the expense of the industry.
@BrianDominyАй бұрын
The title isn't clickbait. Watch the whole series of videos and you'll see he's just showing whatever happens, day by day. If anything, he's bringing awareness to the issue and maybe people will think better when they are on the road.
@gen157Ай бұрын
I strongly disagree with your statements. TLD is only bringing attention to this situation. Yes it happens all the time, always close to getting hit. I work the interstate changing truck tires and doing other repairs. It's non-stop 70-90mph traffic within feet of me. Hours a day, sometimes all day. That doesn't make any singular incident less important. The more it's documented, the more the public becomes aware.
@ARoadBuilderАй бұрын
It's not clickbait bro, the car is literally sitting ontop of a box they just poured concrete in. This video shows people who don't work in the field like us that hey, dangerous stuff like this happens. And it just might make some people see differently when they're in construction zones to not play on their phone or pay more attention.
