@larsmeijerink54713 ай бұрын
I have a question. I'm from europe (The Netherlands) and we have a so called "Green stream" it means that multiple intersections are conected with each other and when you have the first one green (if you drive the speedlimit) you will have multiple intersections green aswell. Sometimes that will include 5 or 6 intersections on 1 street. Our traffic lights work with loops in the road and therefore we also have a "truck green stream" that is done so semi trucks will have a green light at multiple lights (they will indicate a green stream (when active) with a lit sighn 250m before every intersection) so semi's dont have too stop every light. Do you guys have something similar? Or is it just active when a car stops for a light? Love your video's, keep up the good work💪💪
@gujwdhufjijjpo97402 ай бұрын
US cities have that too. Idk about all cities but I’m sure most do. I don’t call it “green stream” though. We just call that “timed lights” or “the timing of the lights” because the lights are timed to be green for you if you go the speed limit. This is only for consecutive lights. If there’s just one light it’ll be activated by a car approaching. Also some lights are only timed during rush hour, but in the middle of the night are activated by approaching cars since there’s no traffic.
@larsmeijerink54712 ай бұрын
@@gujwdhufjijjpo9740 the last part is kinda the same. Every traffic light here has censors in the road that detect cars. If there are a lot of cars, its active. If there aren't that many the light goes green when you get there. Our intersections are made too have a low "empty" time. In some cases that is just 3sec. Thats done so you dont have too wait really long and your never waiting for a light while there are no cars on the opposite side. A light will only go too green if the loops detect a car (those censor loops start 150m before the intersection and thats when your "asking" for a green light) if you drive at night here and there are almost no cars the light will switch too green before you get there. That can be done because when there is no traffic, all lights are on red. When a car gets there, it will go too green immediately. This "no empty time" thing has also the positive thing that people dont drive through red because they know if they have a red light the others have green without a doubt.

Yes. They have a strobe light on top of emergency vehicles. The frequency is a secret from the general public, so that private citizens can't reproduce it. When the strobe receiver detects that signal, it can control either which travel direction gets red and which gets green, or it can trigger an all-way red. Emergency vehicles can then temporarily drive on the wrong side of the road to pass the queue of vehicles waiting.

Obviously, that's them wrong in any event, but I'm pretty sure that would create an incredibly dangerous, possibly fatal problem for you as it pulled that cable depending on what it did and what state of pulling you were in, breaking and flying around, pulling on the boom on the truck, even possibility breaking the pole it's attached to if the guys are not fully set up yet. I've dealt with a bit of overhead communication cable between poles and buildings, almost all very low sag setups, 1% or so, and few people realize the incredible tensions involved in a lot of overhead cabling, often many times the cables weight.
