My father set a trail camera out a the end of deer season 2013, on our property north of Escanaba. He forgot about it, and it stayed there for over two years, before I saw it while walking down the trail in November 2015. It had taken photos for over a year! We were amazed to see many pictures of deer, wolves, hare, coyotes, bears and bobcats.

Escanaba native here, I've seen only one wolf in the Esky area and it was around this time, 2015 or so. I had no idea we had so many wolves in the area. Pretty incredible how well they can avoid people all things considered. I didn't know how many bobcats either wow! Great photos

You should really send this video into Bushnell. They may give you other cameras or something for showing how well there's held up and how long it worked for you. Very cool video!!

Wolves have had a positive impact on the deer in the UP. We had WAAY too many deer in the UP, when theyre on every stretch of the highway and 50-100 in almost every field we have TOO MANY.. After a few seasons of rising wolf numbers the deer numbers are starting to fall where they shouldve been all along.

You are so fortunate to have such a variety of wildlife on that property!!! I would love to have such diversity of species living near me!!! Conserve what you have , otherwise, many don’t view such wildlife diversity as essential and don’t care about its’ destruction.

@indiapale why would YOU have a problem, they don't attack humans. but the deer population in that area is surely noticing it. like anything, nothing should be over-populating, it's not healthy for everything as a whole.

Lots of wolves is not great. I agree they are a beautiful animal but the population in Michigan is out of hand. I'm sure in other places such as Wyoming where they have much more options for prey lots of wolves doesn't upset the balance as much as it does here in Michigan.

Wow, what an amazing group of pictures! We are down state, in 2015 we had reservations to stay south of Wetmore. They told us that they were having a wolf problem. When we got there they said that trappers had taken five, including the alpha so things had settled down. Love that the wolves are doing well, but can see that maybe they need to be taken off the endangered list so they can be controlled better. All wildlife has a purpose but a balance needs to be kept one way or another. Once again fantastic shots. It does say a lot about Bushnell equipment too. Thanks for an entertaining video.

Amazing footage. As for the wolves, they were likely all from the same pack. Beautiful animals, ironic that of all the predators on earth, man is the most destructive and dangerous, yet so many want to kill off the wolves who actually are beneficial to the worlds ecosystems.

That's right the wolves kill all the deer. And then they starve to death themselves. Yep, that's right. That's why wolves are extinct.
@normmackey8019
@normmackey8019 5 жыл бұрын
There are already wolves roaming all over the Upper Peninsula, all the territory is already patrolled by packs. The deer harvest a season back showed an increase of deer harvest around 130-something percent over the last year. But this BS narrative is still spouted. Sad.
@michigansanimals9341
@michigansanimals9341 Жыл бұрын
Bro what? Wolves and deer have been in the US since before the first humans set foot on the continent, why would wolves drive deer to extinction? Wolves are gone from most of the lower 48 cause we eradicated them. Canada has both deer and wolves so I don’t see how what you’re saying makes sense

@normmackey8019 5 жыл бұрын
Nah, they have a big percentage of the moose radio collared, and when the moose die they send someone out to see why. What they find is mainly deer parasites, brainworm and liver fluke, in bad tick years moose vampired to death by winter ticks. Not wolves. Also, calves have a very high survival rate that excludes wolves as a problem, older moose die from the parasites
