Just like me a truck driver, you need to do a walk around to make sure everything is correct, pins, hookups and lights.

The conspicuity (red & white reflective) tape is put on incorrectly. The red should be facing to the rear of the trailer to signify to oncoming vehicles where the rear of the trailer is located.

Looks like your reducer on the hitch receiver is being worn down. Also using a reducer creates more slop in the receiver. You need a 2.5 inch shank hitch

Redmax blowers, Shindaiwa stick-equipment and Stihl chainsaws for me. Been that way for over 20 years. Nick, being a tall guy I'm surprised you never ran the Tanaka trimmers like the TCG27ECPSL with the extra long 70+ inch shafts.

OMG! Same thing happened to me years ago. I was pulling a compressor in town and it was a holiday at the time. NO one on the road. I hit a pothole then I see the compressor riding on the side of me then it hit the curb and bounced. This could have been so dangerous. Happy for you that this incindent didn't turn out so bad!! Nice trailer, do you have brakes on both axles? How long is it? I’ve had an empty (thank god) trailer come off, my daughter noticed it looked funny but didn’t say anything! Oh well, things happen. The chains BROKE but my dual axle brakes did a sweet job stopping the trailer pronto. Towed it home and got chains and drove it the next day. It was user error which has led me to a daily check before leaving home regardless if I’ve unhooked or not.

I would never use a lynch pin on a hitch pin. your just asking for it to fall off. goes with a Locking Hitch Pin Clip instead
