I have the Teraflex 4" suspension system, love every bit of it. I really enjoyed this comparison. After a LOT of research I opted for the AEV 2.5 lift on my JK and love it. It’s my daily driver, so I wanted a great ride on-road and capable off-road. I agree with your assessment on washboards, so I drop my tire pressure about 10 psi for a smoother ride...it’s the trade off I made for the on-road performance. I was also on a limited budget and I wanted the best bang for the buck. Last but certainly not least, I wanted a kit which I could install by myself, without any drilling or welding, all on a weekend. I was not disappointed in my decision. Thanks again for this great comparison video!

@@_cosmos_4219 , I’m currently running stock JL Rubicon wheels and (285/70R17 (33”) tires which were take-offs. So I’m at about 4.5 to 5 inches higher than I was on the stock wheels and suspension of my JK Rubi. It’s been great and extremely stable. The AEV 2.5 lift with its tuned suspension seems to work great. It is definitely noticeable, but nothing like a 4” lift, which, for me was to much lift for a daily driver, not to mention the other modifications I’d have to do for the bigger lift. I’m a newish Jeep owner, 2021. I researched lift kits, watched reviews and decided to go with an Icon Stage 3 kit. One of the main reasons I picked Icon was I never installed one before and it tied for best instructions on a highly rated/reviewed KZbin lift kit review. So, I rented garage space, and got going. The instructions for rear springs: noted part number printed right side up to ensure that the spring are not installed upside down. When in fact it was printed upside down. We were able to find a professional mechanic and they confirmed they were printed upside down. Again as a first timer, I would have assumed the instructions were correct, installed upside down, and assume the result would have been significant and costly (with responsibility and cost on me). Two other things went wrong: (1) front lower link kit, the brake line bolt on their bracket snapped off after minor tightening (by hand); (2) the rear shock (axle side) pulled the sleeve from the shock into the hole which proceeded to snap the bolt. ICON did send a replacement bushing/sleeve for the shock, requested I send them pictures to prove. Maybe this is considered normal, or just to pass along.

I recently purchased a 2021 JL (2-door) Rubicon and had the dealer install the AEV DualSport RT suspension. When the mechanic did an alignment, he commented that it might benefit from a front adjustable track bar. I noticed that the jeep was a little "darty", but it still handled better than my old TJ. My wheels and 35" tires were on backorder so the salesman suggested that I purchase a track bar and he would have it installed and re-aligned when they installed the wheels & tires. I purchased a JKS HD Adjustable Track Bar and took it back to the dealer to have it installed and aligned. WOW! Night and day difference. I haven't been off-road yet, but the on-road manners are now perfect.

It would have been really cool if you could do a long term update on these suspension. Which one holds up the best in the long run? Suspensions tend to settle over time. I think AEV would do very well in this category because it reuses a lot of the factory parts and is made to take advantage of the pros of the stock suspension.

When I'm selecting parts for my Jeep, I want to compare the pros and cons of each design and manufacturer. Thank you for investing your time in providing this analysis for us. I got a Rusty's Off-Road 3.75 Advanced lift, with all 8 adjustable control arms and adjustable track bars. I had to do ALOT of adjustments and fine-tuning over months to get it dialed in. I probably should have just gotten a simpler kit with just lower adjustable control arms (necessary to get the caster angle back to where it needs to be (when the pinion is at factory angle, the caster is also factory angle and it will drive great). I don't regret going all-in with so much adjustability, as when I knock something out of alignment, I can adjust int back into my preferred spec, so that is worth it, as I typically have to put it up on a rack at the alignment shop after the more aggressive wheeling trips to get things back where they need to be for daily driver use. Yup, My rig is my daily driver and weekend wheeler. I love the challenge of balancing on-road and off-road performance.

Brad - This video was my personal favorite, so far - I've been checking KZbin everyday for Part 2. I found the comparison dimensions to be extremely useful in making my own decision. This video confirmed my intention to purchase one of these products - due to my personal usage (long drives to off-roading destinations, mostly mild-medium trails, need adjustability / fine tuning as I'm still making changes to my Jeep). Albeit, there were at least two other products in the video that surprised me and are good alternatives for my setup. Last, I appreciated your explanation as to why some products were not included in the video. Thank you, and happy holidays to you and your family.

Thanks for doing this review. As I struggle to find the right suspension for me this helped me out a lot. Unfortunately, after watching this review I decided to go with the Dynatrac only to find out they do not make a kit for the Ecodiesel. So I went with my #2 choice AEV, judging from the review this will be the right choice. Love the channel and thanks for what you are doing for the Jeep community.

How you liking that lift, bro? After watching this video, I'm leaning AEV, but I think I'm gonna go with the #" with the heavier springs. We're pretty heavy when we head out adventuring.

Nice video I would have loved this when I was searching for a lift for my JK but I believe I still would have gone with Metal Cloak game changer. Another nice detail video. Great watching thanks.

Great videos. Suggestion for a future video: Improved 3.6l Wrangler low range power upgrades. I just bought 2016 Wrangler Unlimited and took it on a trip. I was surprised by two things. 1) how little low end torque there was at highway speeds around 1,500 rpm. 2) the lack of any videos or articles with basic intake and exhaust upgrades and dyno data. A comparison of that would be awesome.

Excellent video. Love these kind of tests. I have the Mopar 2 inch lift and it is too stiff on washboard roads and I am thinking of swapping

I run the Terraflex alpine suspension on my 2020 w/ the falcon 3.3 shocks couldn’t be happier with both on and off road performance. Money well spent.

Did you add anything else to this kit?

I purchased the 2.5” kit from teraflex back in October. With Corona virus and the CNC machines going down at the falcon factory I’m still waiting for the shocks. This video gives me reassurance of a solid purchase though!

What an amazing opportunity! And I'm sure a lot of hard work behind the scenes putting this all together! A video on how this all happened in the works? Also, will there be available a chart showing all the listings/rankings and prices? Love your work - you are getting better and Better! Thank You!

Amazing video and great job on keeping all the vehicles the same with the same tires . I always hate when you see suspension comparisons and they have different tires and wheels in a different model of a vehicle and try comparing them . I think the only way you could have made this video better is if you would have loaded a couple of the stock tires in the back to simulate the weight of basic camping /off-road gear to see how it changed the suspension dynamics, but I’m sure this comparison took a long long time to do and produce so again thank you for such a amazing comparison video .

Nice job Brad! I have been lifting Jeeps for a long time and I was pretty much on board. I think as you modify the Jeeps more the outcome would have changed a little, but for what you tested, great job. We could write a book about suspension dynamics once the Jeeps change from stock!

Just got the Terra Flex 2.5 s/t with adjustable Falcon shocks. Seems to be a very good lift.
@derekpb63943 жыл бұрын
Same but without the lets say on the fly adjustable shocks ... I say on the fly because even the ones that you cant in the fly for installation you can set them hard or soft (soft recommend for colder locations)

This really helped me out. I'm not looking for a rock crawling set up, but a competent off-road/mild-to-medium ride.

Hey, AEV scored big! I agree and after 3k miles on AEV under my 2-DR JLR it has settled nicely. I also use a Terra Flex steering stabilizer so agree that they make great stuff too. Great review!
