The Tees Valley Line actually terminates at Bishop Auckland. Also at about 48:10 yes there was once a rail line there it was the Stockton to Darlington Railway which ran from Shildon-Stockton Port.

My local line this. I used to go up and down this line with my dad driving a shunter at the steel works and then he got a job at BR at Thornaby depot driving a pacer between Bishop Auckland and Saltburn or Nunthorpe/Whitby to Newcastle/Metro Centre

@@HeyItsAJOmega yeah, spent much of my time hanging around the tees yard and Thornaby depot as a kid before health and safety. I used to know the line back of my hand at the age of 14 between Saltburn and Bishop Auckland. I live in an old station house now on this line. The line between from the Junction between Eaglescliffe and Thornaby stations and across to Bank Top station in Darlington is part of the world's first 1825 Stockton to Darlington line. The line carried on North of Eaglescliffe rather than heading east into Thornaby and at the Darlington end carried on upto Shildon to what is now the locomotion museum. There is also a train made out of bricks just off a lay-by off the A66 in Darlington to on an old line

Great vid especially the commentary. Ironic that you mentioned cars doing burn outs with their tyre as this is what you appear to have been doing with the traction motors😉 After the mandatory stop to gain access to the main line there were two red wavy lines either side of the speed indicator on the HUD. Upon leaving South Bank it appears that you didn't fully release the brakes? It appears that the train brakes were only set to Running and not Release. It's a pain I know as I've had problems with fine margin between Brake Release and Brake Running. Compliments to you on your presentation style. Although I own TSW2020 (including Tees Valley and Class 20 DLC) I was so engrossed that I didn't notice the lack of performance from the Choppers until the 30mph restriction near Dinsdale when the Power Controller was set to 5 and you were only maintaining your current speed. That your brake shoes were 'hot' was probably also responsible for the lack of brake performance at Darlington. Also why you didn't fail with the Red signal at the junction of the Saltburn line on approach to Darlington was that you had the shunt signal shown by the two illuminated white lights below the main signal.

...oh, woops! Yeah, releasing the brake completely is always a bit of a fiddly one for me - especially with the Class 66! No wonder we arrived a little bit late into Darlington, the poor 20s had been fighting against their own brakes most of the way! And I guess it's a compliment if I was so engaging that you didn't notice the brake issue until late in the video xD

Some of the level crossings on the York-Harrogate line are _probably_ still manually operated (or were converted only very recently).

Good to see some hellfire action! I think I've seen that the 20 can also do runs on the West Somerset Railway, as well as Tees-Valley.
@HeyItsAJOmega4 жыл бұрын
Correct! The 20 can do runs on the WSR as part of their 'diesel gala' element. Like how some locos from the Tees Valley and Northern Trans-Pennine routes can also run a 'Heritage Railtour' on the East Coastway :)

@@HeyItsAJOmega I didn't know that! I don't have TSW and I'll probably wait for TSW2 now, but the game looks amazing!

I’m from Darlington and i’ve never called it “Redcur.” It’s just redcar without a pause between the two words. Edit: i’ve also seen Iron Maiden live in Newcastle too 🤌. Also they weren’t tourists, that was a traveler’s camp.
