Wow.... Felt as if you were talking to me directly. Yes, I do need to modify my training for recovery time and sleep. Thank you for your advice.

VERY good description of the training errors. Like another commenter said, explained me to a T when I first started hamstring problems in HS! Races every single week

Pushing my train day by day getting an injury several weeks. I am in the recovery process and watched this video. It is really helpful in my situation. Can you make video information about the recovery for the high intensity of Athletic?

Thank you for your thorough explanations. I watched a lot of your HHT related videos and they were very helpful to put the injury in perspective and to give me ideas on how to recover. Thank you

Thanks for the highly informative videos. I have learnt alot about the different aspects of HHT and now need to but this to practice. I have had this injury for months before being properly diagnosed and have not been able to run apart from a slow jog with the dog. Whilst running may have been the initial cause I do feel that sitting on hard surfaces (I kayak regularly) has exacerbated the problem particularly since I have a "small, boney bum" and minimal muscles for padding. I am now trying out the rolled towel technique for sitting and will incorporate the bridge exercises into my routine. Also, what is your view on Platelet rich plasma injections for improving healing and recovery? - this was recommended by a health professional.

Struggling with HHT for months. Thanks for great information. Do you recommend getting deep tissue massage?

It can help relieve pain and make you more comfortable but the effect is usually only temporary (but very useful if pain is driving you mad) - just ask them to not be too aggressive around the tendon and rather focus on the muscles because it can irritate the tendon if rubbed too strongy.

Thanks for the information. I'm currently dealing with HHT and am a masters sprinter (100m, 200m & 400m). What you said about training has me thinking about my approach. With the high knee drive and trying to strike the ground quickly & forcefully under your body with sprinting, what would you see as a good approach to prevent this from reoccurring (especially training for the 400 meters)? Is it reducing the number of high intensity sprints to 1 or 2 times a week or the volume or distance being run? I know it can be different depending on the person, but am interested to get your thoughts. Thank you.

Like you say - it will be different for every person but definitely when you first come back, I would limit the high intensity sessions and ensure good recovery. Analyze your previous training that contributed to the injury and see where you may have done things differently. Also look at where you add your strength training into the weekly schedule because you will require good recovery from that as well.

Hello, what do you think about training with this injury? If I can run slow without pain, is it fine to run. My pain only seems to occur if I push pace or do hills. Thank you for your videos!

Hi Amanda, Absolutely fine to train if you can do it without increasing your pain but check the 24 hours response - so it should also not be sore next day. However, make sure you're also doing rehab exercises to strengthen your tendon or you may not get rid of it. xm

@@SportsInjuryPhysio Thanks so much! I will definitely continue with my PT exercises. It is very refreshing listening to your take on this injury as there is so much doom and gloom about it all over the internet. Its important to come back cautiously and progessively and keep your head in a good place!
