You GO girl - it's the most life changing challenge you could take on - hope the coach knows what he/she is doing - coached hundreds of novices through their first Comrades - just make sure you have one tough hill session in your plan every week and execute it diligently - it is your most important training session - get your qualifying marathon out of the way as soon as possible and don't do any marathons or shorter ultra's after March but lot's of 30km to 35km runs after March - HILL SESSION - choose one 300 to 350 metre hill with a fairly steep gradient and start in November with just one rep which you sprint will all of your being - a week later it's 2 reps - a week later its 3 reps until you have built it up to 10 reps which will be some where in Jan 2025 - now you are on cruise control of 10 reps per week until 2 weeks before race day - if you do this hill session you will claim you medal easily and quite a bit faster than you had hoped for - GOOD LUCK

All the best & see you on the starting line. I also started with the Down Run (2022) & it was so hilly I don't know why it's called the "Down" Run... The only down part I felt was Fields Hill (~2.6km long) after ~60km but by then it was my worst nightmare, my knees had checked out. And then there's the issue of the unnamed hills...😂😂😂 Now having also done the 2023 Down Run & the 2024 Up Run, I'd say Comrades is BRUTAL either direction. Respect it, put in the proper training & have a proper PACING PLAN (don't wing it or go with the flow, otherwise you'll crash & have a long painful day😅) All in all, it's an amazing race that makes all the sacrifices, the early mornings, the weight loss, terrible toenails..., worth it

And that's is why I want to do the Comrades because it pushes people to be put of their comfort zones. Humans are built to achieve amazing things. Well done for not giving up and for keep going back 👏

Your dream is not impossible. We can achieve great things if we put in the time and hard work. We so often get inspired by other for our dreams, if you going to feel inspired by another person make sure that it doesnt stay a dream and it comes a reality. You can do it as well

Goodluck. I believe doing this video was an excellent decision. It basically binds you to your promise. A sort of point of no return. You can't change your decision. You have to do it. You will do it. You will finish it. The Ultimate Human Race.

Thank you. It one of many reasons why I created this video as I can't be all talk and no action. It easy to say wr want to do something but to actually be committed that the hard part, so I am fully committed and ready to cross that finish line

Before you do the up run - the down run has to be easier. 😁 After you do the up run - the down run is harder. 🙈 [personal experience]
