Hi I have a vizsla 7 months old she sometimes doesn't want to drop the dummy after a retrieve, what is the best way to learn them to release the dummy.

best to teach them a verbal Q to release the dummy. "Dead" is commonly used. By teaching the verbal release Q there should be no danger of them simply spitting out as they see your hand moving to accept the dummy.

We have a female 7 month GSP who will sit and stay but at times will get upset and bark cause she is impatient to sit and wait, have you had other dogs who are more vocal when training and what you would advise on how to correct her barking.

Hi Angelica, It’s difficult to comment unless I know why she is barking - at other dogs? At dummies being thrown? To get your attention? Whatever the reason I think she is stressed in some way, either through fear/excitement/impatience? At 7 months perhaps too much pressure or watching something too close and too exciting for her level of training? I suggest for now move her back from the source, give her more exposure to the distraction at a greater distance. By introducing her slowly, building up confidence and familiarity with situations she will be able to cope and respond to your commands. Without a doubt at 7 months if you allow her to bark it could become a habit that will be difficult to break.
