They were using 215's near me to fight fires and we drove up to the lake to watch them dip. Amazing the steep angle of turns they could do and do it VERY slow. I thought they were going to stall the first time I saw them do this but after several passes noticed in fact that's what they are designed to do.

That 215 is a survivor at heart. For 18 years of disuse and just abandonment, it looks like it's still in tip-top shape after all those years. She's still surviving after all that time and the only visual difference is the layer of dust on top. Would be a real shame if she were scrapped due to a few pieces of missing paper.

24:52 Kanso? i be damn sure they were called Catalina's and woah, its a fine aircraft, maybe ill fly down there with a roll of leather and a nail gun and a few thousand dollars and fly home in a catalina, it looks to be in marvolous and relativeley airworthy condition, very little to no fatique in the wings and engine nacelles, only the flaps have rotted away, must be an older model

@@JoeKyser Well being for Buffalo the only one that comes close is the cv-240. So when this aircraft came out it was worse than the DC-3. Why on earth would they want a aircraft that is more expensive and harder to find? also no one at Buffalo know anything about them. unless you think they should try to fly a b-36 up there.

Intument training starts when you use it everyday...file n go; know the rules...all my trying was a high density area...SFO,OAK,LAX,SAC etc.once you learn the singsong,sing-song, with fade...must train on basic instrument flying.instuctin in actual,nite weather is definitely a plus.coastal weather systems easy to read...mtn flying,must have boosted systems to maintain meas.yep,with large radials,better know systems well,ATC can't help u,so Joe's right on...

One thing I’ve come to realize with watching these episodes is that as much as we call Joe cranky and grumpy, this guy really cares about his employees. He knows he is running the most difficult business you can run and, therefore needs to always be demanding or else it’s hundred of jobs that will be lost. He does congratulate his employee whenever they do a good job. I truly believe Joe’s character is misunderstood.
