Something I just noticed. When Neytiri flies up close to Jake, he doesn't just duck at the incoming Ikran. He sprawls. The military training teaches them to sprawl and I guess Jake picked it up from fellow soldiers he was watching.

Jake was a soldier back on earth. If I remember, he got shot in his spine area. Which is how he got crippled

Jake was a marine before he was paralysed that's why he's got good instincts and is a good fighter. It's also why he's a good war/military leader and why he uses things like call signs and sticks to ARs and explosives when in war

I was so taken in by Neytiri's relationship with her ikran that I eventually named my Blue Abyssinian "Seze" which seemed perfect because the name actually refers to a unique "blue flower" on Pandora. 💙

I just realized that her headband thing was actually a visor not just an acessory to know that someone will fly an ikran. It seems to have a butterfly's wings as the lens.

Howdy, big Avatar enthusiast. It is a visor and it's commonly referred to as a Rider's Mask or, as the Na'vi call it, an Ionar! It is indeed a piece of eye protection for the Na'vi as Ikrans can reach some pretty high speeds in flight and during diving and several clans are known to use them and have their own methods of making them as well as their own specific materials! So not all Rider's Masks are made of the same materials depending on the clan the Mask comes from! The Omatikaya in this case, Neytiri's clan and subsequently the clan Jake is welcomed into during the first film and later becomes the Olo'eyktan (leader/chief) of, specifically use leather (likely hides from animals such as Viperwolves, Sturmbeasts, or Hammerheads, etc.), bones or beads for decoration if they so desire, and the lenses are made with molted insect wings from various different insect species on Pandora! Every Rider's Mask is unique to the individual, as in almost every clan culture we're currently aware of that rides Ikrans the rider gets to make their mask themselves, typically after their bond and first flight is completed! 🤍
