For Sam for her question at 3:20, I do a bit of Hand sharpening with Japanese Whetstones so can give a little bit of insight. Sharpness is actually rather complex so I’ll just keep it simple. Cutting paper is the standard for a knife to be an “Acceptable” level of sharp. Most people don’t sharpen their knives and can’t do this. The more flexible/less rigid or more unstable a material, the harder it is for a CLEAN cutting test. For instance, paper towels because they are less rigid than standard printing paper are considered more difficult, and tissue paper is even more difficult, since they are more likely to tear before the blade can “bite” into the material. For reference, for something to be Razor sharp it will be easily sharp enough to cut paper, but slightly less sharp than needed to cut a paper towel. Think of it like Daki’s neck in the entertainment district, when she made it soft and flexible, it became harder to cut directly, so they had to resort to a sawing motion (Inosuke) or a sheering force (Zenitsu and Inosuke together). That was actually pretty realistic, if Daki’s neck lost its rigidity, but kept the same durability it would become significantly harder to cut with a simple slashing motion. That being said the standard test is you hold the top of the paper by its short end, and cut in a smooth downward motion from the top. Your hand holding the material, and the material itself is what gives resistance for the knife to “bite” and get a clean cut. The scene with the sword and paper plane shows that with ONLY the force of the plane gliding, the sword was so sharp it could “bite” into the paper and get a clean cut. This is an insane, likely realistically infeasible level of sharpness, especially on a full length sword like that.

10:43 To answer that question, flight services were introduced to Japan in 1922. And Demon Slayer is set during the Taisho Era (Jul 1912 - Dec 1926), so DS storyline may happen before or after that. FYI as well... Hei-an Era (794 - 1185): This is when Muzan first became a demon. Sengoku Era (1470 - 1700): This is when First Breathing Techniques and its users were created.

Other than Rengoku, you can probably guess how certain Hashira are viewed by the rest. As we saw a few episodes ago, the Stone Hashira is someone who is able to bring order to the others. So, there’s likely respect there. Shinobu once told Giyu that no one liked him, and we were able to confirm that at least two Hashira didn’t during that meeting. Mitsuri is the Love Hashira, and she has a very cheery and friendly attitude towards everyone, but Shinobu tries to maintain her composure. So, we can’t be sure of how she feels about anyone unless she says it, or Tanjiro literally sniffs it out. Although, she does show a great deal of patience when dealing with Giyu’s social awkwardness.

Tokito is now finally acting his age. This just goes to show how cruel the demon slayer world is. It's easy to forget that albeit a Hashira and experienced fighter, he is still only 14 years old. He just grew up in a cruel world and forced to mature beyond his actual age which is quite sad.

A BIG thing about this training arc, is that BEFORE, The Hashira NEVER trained the rest of the Corps. Members 1on1 like now. They only had SELECT Trainees called Sugoku. So now were seeing this FOR THE FIRST TIME, just like the Demon Slayers are experiencing this training for the first time, at the personal hands of the Hashira at that. Also most Hashira dont train with each other like were seeing either, so most of them haven't seen each others Breathing Forms
