I love them too! I genuinely think that the FLIRTs are the best new train this country has had for years. The 317s are classic though and I'm sure they will be missed for years.

The 379s should be placed on northern to replace the last 319s and on ScotRail to get rid of the 318s, if that's not enough then what's left could replace class 320s and 321s

@@n1thmusic229 they are already using 323‘s to replace the 319‘s and the 319s going to be converted to 769’s to run on Southport services to hopefully get some Sprinters over to the east to replace the 153’s

I think that GTR Great Northern are inheriting the Class 379s. But some could go to GWR to be used on Reading-Newbury shuttle service.

Great video mate. Great tone from the driver on 745105 and coming back and I noticed that they scrap/take off the Stansted Express brand from 379s

I’m hoping that Greater Anglia are expecting to start introducing the Class 720 Aventras in few months time. With the Class 317 and Class 379 Electrostar to be replaced by the Class 720. And the Class 745/1 Flirt that have entered service on Stansted Express which has replaced the Class 379. Maybe Greater Anglia should keep the Class 379s because they are ideal for the Stratford-Meridian Water shuttle and Stratford-Hertford East, Bishops Stortford and Harlow Town services.

Thanks Ricky, the West Anglian Mainline is rarely seen as a line for fast trains, but, it’s definitely possible! It looks like Meridian Water currently shares the same fate as nearby Angel Road (closed) and has limited use. I don’t even think that I saw 10 passengers whilst I was here. 😃

I believe outside the peak it is one per hour (to Stratford). In the Peak there are several Liverpool Street services. Its quite a poor service considering this station was built in 2019!
