The blue Pullman HST is so nice, and I'm surprised that there was nearly no 5 car IETs. Great vid

Tilehurst is a suburb of Reading located on the west side of the town. The main area known as Tilehurst Village is located 1.7 miles away from Tilehurst station. It is also the least used station in Reading.

Great video as always 🤩👍🏽🎉🎉 ‘Flying cucumbers’ everywhere now on GWML 😟 Lovely to see the Blue Pullman HST...it was like the good ole days seeing a full sized HST on the GWML 🤣🎉🎉🎉👍🏽
@srrk25083 жыл бұрын
What do you mean full sized? No GWR HSTs use the GWML. The only HSTs with GWR run on the Riviera Line.
@ejc71293 жыл бұрын
@@srrk2508 read my comment again 🤔 it says “it was like” not “is like”.....yes between 1976 and May 2019 we ‘used to’ have (emphasis on the words ‘used to’) full size HST’s on the GWML 🤨👍🏽 Im well aware we only have castle sets now and they do not run to/from Paddington and they can’t anyway now as none of the Paddington drivers are signed off to drive HST’s anymore, thats why the castle sets could not be used to/from London during the 800/802 cracking incident ☺️👍🏽

Ah, the Midland Pullman HST looks and sounds amazing. Very happy they have the ex EMR HST sets with VP185 engines. Epic video as always :-)

Thanks Ricky! So so glad they took VP185s instead of MTUs! Ironically, the coaches are ex-GWR so theyre back on their home ground!

Only 12 minutes this week?! This is my favourite line over here, down South. Frustrating as I haven’t been able to get over and watch any lines since I’ve started a new job. Used to be in Reading frequently and got the morning rush hour of all the HST’s, 800’s (when they were introduced…), I miss it. We recently lost my Grandad, of which we used to spend all our weekends travelling the old FGR line to SWR before the transition to GWR. Wanted to take him trainspotting one last time before we lost him, but will always live in the memories. Hope you’re all good mate, class video again!

I am afraid so Flynn. I had a real hard time trying to get content here (was also hoping for freight) To be honest, I would have preferred filming at Reading instead but the Pullman uses the western triangle to avoid instead of reversing, so it was one or the other. Im really sorry to hear about your Grandad, I too have spent many hours (if not years) with my family travelling the UK and can appreciate some of the memories you have. Thanks as always.

I would suggest you do a video of Paddington the new Heathrow express 387’s are in service in a livery on them just looks incredible

Thanks for the suggestion Dan, I am looking at going to Paddington very soon. I currently have a fairly large backlog of videos just in case COVID screws something up over Christmas but I will definitely get to this. To be honest, I’ve wanted to return for several years.

Great video! How do you get such accurate information of how early or late or where it’s going to?

My thoughts: I can see that he filmed on the fast line rather than the relief line. I get why, and it’s cool to see. Train race at 1:19 222019 not on the fast line So mainly the Class 800, Class 802, and the occasional Voyager How did you get the Voyager numbers on the other side of the station? Crazy not in service BLUE HST which we all love. Sneaky catch from the footbridge
@srrk25083 жыл бұрын
They used RealTimeTrains
@StarlifeStudios3 жыл бұрын
I normally use RealTimeTrains as a final check incase I cannot get the number from the video. To answer your question Ben, I usually pan round on either the rear or in the middle of the two Voyagers, this gives me a frame perfect view of both numbers. Seeing the Pullman HST at a station previously famed for GWR HSTs just seemed like a perfect fit! Thanks 😃

@@transitcaptain Ok. That is true. Maybe Network Rail should electrify from Didcot Parkway to Oxford so that Class 800s and Class 387s can run fully electric from London Paddington to Oxford. Just like they extended the electrification from Reading to Newbury.
