Trains at Wolverhampton - 07/05/2024

Filmed on 07/05/2024. So, we finally made it back and near enough to the West Coast Mainline. After a change at Smethwick Galton Bridge for the West Midlands Railway shuttle services between Walsall and Wolverhampton, we return to Wolverhampton. (Season 11 Episode 11)
So, to add to a even more interesting day to say the least, there is a points failure between Telford Central and Shrewsbury which has resulted in West Midlands Railway having to cancel their hourly services between Birmingham New Street and Shrewsbury. Rail replacement buses are in operation to serve all stations between Wolverhampton and Shrewsbury. Transport For Wales risked running late but still kept their services running.
Since our last visit back in 2022, there has been quite a few changes. Cross Country Trains has bought back 2 trains per hour between Manchester Piccadilly to Birmingham New Street. With one service per hour running to Bournemouth and the other for Bristol Temple Meads. London North Western Railway has also bought back a half hourly service linking Birmingham New Street to Liverpool Lime Street worked by the singular class 350 Desiro units.

Cool visit to Wolverhampton Ricky. Ive also got a quick question why does London northwestern only do 4 car units from Birmingham to Liverpool?

Thanks Joel. It's because during the peak times, London North Western Railway runs every half hourly hence for the reduction of carriages :-)
