I have something like this in my town near city's Museum. It was serving the Yugoslavian railroads from 1950's. It is a tourist attraction there. It was passing 50 meters from my home while it was operational in the past. Nice steamer.

I think her smoke box needs a good cleaning keep her door seals tight, and shake her grates as well. That brass work gleams as gold. That is a very loved old girl. Looks as a “Millie “ 4014 to me. And “ Margarita “ 844 assisting.

I know Big Boy and Living Legend are the stars of this show, but I must ask: is that a Centennial they are pulling? because if so, that is awsome. It's just something about the Largest still running Steam locomotive (+Living Legend) pulling the largest Diseal, makes me feel satisfied.

Why so much smoke? Don't khow to burn bunker oil more cleanly? Why the second steam locomotive. Train too heavy for 4014?

Two steam locomotives were used since they were meant to represent the Golden Spike at Ogden. As for the smoke, this is done mainly for show.

Big Boy is more than a train, it's an American icon. This engine class was credited by many historians for America winning WWII. UP did a remarkable job bringing 4014 back to life.

It's a freight diesel. It's not powering the cars. It's being used for dynamic brakes to save the brakes on the steam. If you look, the second car behind the diesel has a huge vent on it. That's a generator car for the other cars
