Yes, it was good to get out to a show again. I'm glad we ran into you before the rush, it gave us a little time to catch up. Seeing your layout in person was a highlight. Absolutely stunning work Mark. All the best to you. Regards, David.

Excellent train show David I wasn’t there but I will there be next year. At least I did get to go to Edmonton last year. That was an awesome show as well. Hope you’re doing well Tristan.
@trainsontuesday Жыл бұрын
Hi Tristan, It is a great show and if you are able to go next year you should. I don't know if I will be going next year. Although I had a great time at the show I did find the travel there and back to be rather stressful. Lots of time to think about it though. I will probably be out Wed. evening around 7.00 pm for the VIA, perhaps I shall see you there. David.

Good morning David, thanks for the footage of the show. It’s amazing to see the very large layouts and lots of bridges.. looks like it was very well attended. Hope you both had a great day. Oscar
@trainsontuesday Жыл бұрын
Hello Oscar. In the post pandemic world the show was somewhat smaller than before but the quality was superb. I don't know the overall size of those large layouts but 60' long seems about right. Bridges are great structures to model and impressive on these big layouts. The largest one seemed to be the dominant feature on that layout and seen overall it was perhaps too big. As this as our first show since 2019 I expected a large crowd and was not disappointed. Ryan and I really enjoyed ourselves and made a few purchases of course. Regards, David.

Hi Nancy, I see you have yet another channel name, I won't ask why. There must surely be shows in Seattle, Tacoma, Portland that you could attend? This show in Calgary is the only one I can get to and it is becoming expensive to do that. Glad to hear that you enjoyed the video. Take care. David.

@@trainsontuesday Hi David yes my channel I had I had to delete this channel now is just a support channel so i can continue to comment on a persons videos I want to be able to support you all youtube is once again picking on me banning me and turning off my comments and bell so i have left youtube for good and moved to rumble and facebook only now and as far as shows I am in a wheelchair and cannot travel too far to go see a show due to lack of wheelchair transit here we don't have transit for wheelchairs that go to certain areas of the state.

Thank you Ray. It was a great pleasure to meet up for a while at SuperTrain. I hope you enjoyed the show as much as Ryan and I did. Thank you too for the great gifts you gave me, I shall be showcasing those in an upcoming video. We had a good drive home with only one active construction zone, light traffic and good weather to Salmon Arm. A little rain after that. Cheers, David.

Hello Jonathan. It was a wonderful day out. I met up with some old friends, new friends and familiar faces as well as seeing all of these great layouts. There were many more that I just could not fit into the video. I did indeed do a little shopping including looking for a controller for you. There were various ones there but priced too high for my liking. We will take a look at my purchases next week. Regards, David.

A couple of random observations - I laughed at all the police cars at the Tim Horton's at 2.12 and the CP grain car right afterwards with the two tribute units. Never mind... There were so many interesting and beautifully built layouts that I would have been typing more than watching. I enjoyed seeing Thomas, Annie and Clarabel running on so many layouts. That must have been a real treat for the children in attendance. I'm so impressed and blown away by the level of detail in these layouts. I hope that you had a wonderful trip.
@trainsontuesday Жыл бұрын
You are the first to comment on the cops at Timmy's, well spotted. It truly is a great show with something for everyone. From Thomas to Lego, excellent layouts in Z, N, HO, OO, O and G scale to vendors, manufacturers and special interest groups, they were all there. I was overjoyed to see the young children there, that's something that is uncommon these days. We did have a great trip but it is a long drive. Cheers, David.

Thanks David. I have friends in Calgary and I was dead jealous (because I’m an inconvenient 4000 miles away..)
@trainsontuesday Жыл бұрын
Hello and thank you. You missed a couple of great spring days in Calgary. I have always thought that the UK was 6000 miles from us western Canadians, shrinking world I guess. lol. As for the inconvenience, well I've made it to the last two Warley model railway exhibitions at the NEC. All the best, David.

Well thank you David. That is my first time at Super Train, well threw your eyes, but still. thanks for bringing us along. I see you liked the UK exhibit., lol, great sound on that tractor
@trainsontuesday Жыл бұрын
Hi Sparky, thanks for coming along. There were some seriously good layouts to be seen and a good selection of vendors too. The UK layout is by my friend Mark. It is O scale and incredibly well detailed. He is on KZbin at Trefarr Sidings. You have seen and heard real "Tractors" as well as the model ones so you know this was good. Cheers Sparky, David.

Hi Allan. There was too much to take in in one day but that' all I had. I was really happy to see all the youngsters there. They are the future of this hobby, not us oldies with pension money to spend. All the best Allan, keep the videos coming. David.

Hi David, that Class 37 looks and sounds terrific. I don't usually go in for loco sounds, but that sound reminds me of an old Class 1200 QR English Electric Diesel that used to frequent the Lota line back in 1979 80. It sounded distinctive, as all the other locos sounded like American diesels. Those layouts looked really impressive as well, I admire how much work goes into them. Steven.
@trainsontuesday Жыл бұрын
Hi Steven, yes, that 37 is fantastic as is the layout it runs on. It is an O scale layout and it has been built during the pandemic. This years displays were of very high quality, again perhaps a reflection of the pandemic years, lots of time to wok on the details. Cheers, David.

That show looked better than the NEC. Great layouts and some very interesting details. I bet the trestle bridge took a few hours to build. Great all-round. Cheers Michael
@Andystrainsandmore Жыл бұрын
I think you are right regarding the trestle.😊
@trainsontuesday Жыл бұрын
No where near the size of Warley Michael but a great show none-the-less. Extremely talented modelers are to be found everywhere, the quality found here certainly impressed me. I'm quite sure the trestle bridge was completely hand built and almost certainly took longer to build than your Clock tower Park did. Regards, David.

Your Canadian layouts seem so much bigger than our, more space I assume. Some good weathering around. I like the UK Diesel Depot some nice touches.
@trainsontuesday Жыл бұрын
There were some big layouts for sure but available space is much less than Warley. I thought of you when some of the weathering caught my eye. The diesel depot is an O scale layout. I have been watching the development of that since day one, I don't think I have missed an episode. The builders name is Mark and you can find him on YT at Trefarr sidings.

A great show David, I hope you enjoyed it. Märklin and Piko had been there as I realized. I suppose Piko presented it's brand new Kraus Maffei loco, which once had been desighned for the US. Cheers Andy 🤠
@trainsontuesday Жыл бұрын
Hello Andy. Indeed a great show, not as big as before but great quality. As I could only be there one day I limited myself to the items of primary interest and I must confess that I did not look at the Marklin and Piko items. Cheers, David.

Some excellent layouts there David. Are there more individual layouts in Canada compared to all the modular set-ups you see at US shows?
@trainsontuesday Жыл бұрын
Hi Les. Yes, the quality was up to par with anywhere I been. The majority of the space here was taken up by modular layouts so I don't think we're any different. I did not record everything this time as I was only able to attend for one day, (an exhausting day.) Cheers, David.

That last UK layout was mighty impressive. What gauge is it?
