I have been a good friend of Neal for many years, and of course have known Steven Michael and Caroline who are both railroad fans, and fans of the great Worlds Greatest Highway, the Pennsylvania Turnpike. When I visit with Neal, I always bring some trains to run on his layout! Great video!

Fabulous detail. One of the nicest model railroads I've ever seen. I like the mis-matched motive power during the early Conrail days; the two-track main that looks like one tract was removed; and the double header steam passenger train with lots of head end business. The scenery, cars and buildings are also perfect. Job well done. Congrats to you both.

is there a map showing the layout? I run on the middle every day, It looks like what I see everyday when Im working, but if possible I would love to see a map view of the railroad just to see how its all laid out. Thanks! and this looks amazing!

When I visited during an RPM meet years ago the center portion was not landscaped. I assume it must be done now. Is there video of that section? It is so awe inspiring, both on video and of course live.

To call your layout, "amazing" is truly an understatement. Congratulations. I was a student at Villanova University during the Pennsy/New York Central merger where the tracks slash through the middle of the campus. I have to say that apart from reproducing the incredibly filthy aspects of the real thing at that time, you've really captured the feeling of the era. Gotta get those crossing gates fixed though before the Feds find out they aren't lowering when a train goes by. Otherwise a fantastic accomplishment. Thank you very much for posting. --Tom

Great editing, the music adds a lot. Thanks for cutting out my pauses, as you can probably tell I am a bit camera shy. And for your GP30s, if you get them set up and press "set" twice, they should begin to operate as desired. (be sure to leave a second or two between the two button presses) Also, thanks for taking all the time to put this together, I hope to see some more videos of local layouts in the future!

+Steven Michael Thanks a lot Steven! I'll try that with them but at the moment I don't have any place to operate my locos. And it was my pleasure to put the video together.

Very nice to say the least. Can you tell me what company you purchased your railroad crossing gates from?
@BNSFNorthwestDivisionNScale9 жыл бұрын
+luvindemtrains Steven got those crossing gates from NJ International but from what I remember he said that they are almost impossible to find anymore.
@stevenmichael28458 жыл бұрын
Just about. Ross made these in a VERY small batch 25+ years ago, you're probably not going to find any at this point. NJ International now makes a nice alternative.

Where did you get the prr signal bridges?
@stevenmichael28457 жыл бұрын
Johnny- they are Plasticville signal bridges spliced together after having their vertical truss members removed. The signal heads are produced by PSC and are assembled and lighted by Custom Signals.

wow! what a great layout and the camera work was amazing,good job. you have give me some good idea`s for my layout,I hope to get started this fall with it.my layout will be centered around my area where I live,Portland,Ore. Union Pacific,Spokane,Portland&Seattle,Southern Pacific,Northern Pacific ,are some of the railroads in the Willamette valley .I am going to base my layout on the rail yard in North Portland in 1948, if you would like to look, you can see what I am talking about by looking in Classic Trains magazine summer 2016 vol.17 issue 2 page 70 . its going to take a few years to up it together,but that`s the fun part!.hope to see more videos,thanks for the idea`s and taking the time to put this together. so have fun and keep on railroading..........mike
