In my experience, it's pretty much impossible to completely hide the clipping on "custom" intersections. Even though you think YARN is too thick (which it is, admittedly), I find that it's the easiest system to conceal the clipping. I lower the cross street down 0.02 and use a custom skin that doesn't have lines on it to "merge" the two together. I've used that same strategy on freeway exits using YARNish; it looks pretty good. It's great to see you've been continuing on with this series and I can't wait to see more!

Thanks for the tip. There's also some other issues with the YARN system in T:ANE I've noticed. But yeah it is a really great system and I wish the roads were a little thinner. I know they were initially made super thick to deal with the floating road issues that plagued Trainz before TS12. Glad you're enjoying the series! Looking forward to your feedback in future videos.

I may be a few years too late...but for the intersections, make a T or + intersection (don’t connect the roads yet) and connect them with the invisible road (I use the “YARN high traffic invisible road “)

I have learned more in a day than I have in years watching these videos. At 4:23 in the video you are using Sidewalk Median 4ft. Where is that from? I can't find it anywhere. That's an invaluable spline. Keep these videos coming.

Awesome! I used to run and edit this route a lot. One of my favorites from Trainz 2006. Never imported in to Train 2010 or 2012. Have TANE now. Hoping to run this again. Looking forward to this route. If you'd like some help, I've got some ideas as well that I used on my old version. Keep up the great work!

@10:21 I have to level crossings. (So glad they have the Doppler effect) and they're really dark and the gates are like super dark red and grey. Those look like the correct white and red. How did you get that?

I think it's just the way the model is made. I downloaded it from the Download Station. They're made by jmann, kuid:77174:100639

But if you have the exact same asset and it looks different it probably has to do with the colors set in your environmental settings.

Hi there! Very nicely done route and thank you for the extensive commentary. It gives context to your thought process while working on the route. I was wondering if you could point me to some good basic tutorials about gettting started in Surveyor? I am a total newcomer to building content in Trainz, but I am really excited to get going.

I have Trainz 2012 on my iPad. I can never seem to create anything thanks to the horrendous touchscreen problems, and laying baseboards is a pain in the butt with touchscreen. I'm hoping to save up for T:ANE, but there's always Christmas in case I don't get enough dollars.

Where did you get the McDonalds you used? (around 3:00)

Both of the assets were from the Download Station. Just search McDonalds and you'll get about a dozen hits. I don't know what the exact asset is since I've been away from the Trainz machine for several days now.

The track is called Rail HD VI 3m and Rail HD 3M Rouille. I can't remember where I downloaded it from. Maybe JR a long time ago?

You probably got this comment be for but I totally think that you should create pick lists so you can save your grass and trees without having to search for those assets every time. Other than that I love your work and good luck. 😀
