I'm a molecular geneticist (not working in biomedicine) and I love seeing these pathways because I can google them and work everything out by myself. You have a GIFT for educating. Thank you for also utilizing your cosmetic chemistry knowledge to inform us that it goes beyond the ingredient...formulation matters! As a pharmacist, I nerd out on pharmacokinetics (hehe), so this was a pleasure to watch. Another request: please do a video on underarm hyperpigmentation and corrective measures. I imagine that with it being an intertriginous zone, it can pose a challenge to treatment. Thank you!

Wow, I actually just ran across your video because I am going to be starting Tranexamic Acid orally for one of the conditions that you mentioned. I also struggle with hyperpigmentation issues, so helping to even out my skin tone would be an awesome consolation for having to swallow 6 of these huge pills per day! 😊

Thank you for your amazing videos and your knowledge on hyperpigmentation! I wish I knew all this before I turned 50 🤪 My daughter is almost 13 and your videos on cleansing etc is great to teach her at this stage itself. Also can you make videos for preteens as to dos and fonts as they are so self conscious and may make what is nothing worse than it is. Tips on how tos and what not to worry about etc. thank you 🙏

First off, the way your skin glows in this video is encouraging to me as I’m on my skin care journey. I watched your video on melasma/hyperpigmentation and have developed my skin care routine based on your recommendations - (including cyspera) I’m only 2 weeks in and hope my skin can be half as glowy as yours in 14 weeks - I had a super bad case of melasma with back to back pregnancies. Wish me luck!

Hey, I love your videos! There are so few dermatologists specialising in skin of colour, it's so refreshing to see and you're such an inspiration (I'm in med school myself). I was wondering about the ingredient Thiamidol in Eucerin's anti pigment range. Also a review of their anti-pigment spf 50 sunscreen which (I think) is chemical not physical but designed especially for those with hyperpigmentation. I've been using their products and I think they're okay but would love your expert opinion. Thank you so much for producing amazing content!

I am battling hyperpigmentation and can’t use alot of topical treatment because my face is so sensitive due to history of inappropriate topical acid use for acne. Can you still use topical retinol, and other more gentle topical hyperpigmentation treatment while taking tranexamic acid orally? Please do a video on that. Thank you so much!

It’s in my Curology prescription and I have been enjoying a serum called tranX for my mild age spots. Recommended by PennSmith...affordable and includes Kojic Acid as well as other pigment fighters). Off topic question...what do you think of at home microdermabrasion? Not for pigmentation, but to keep milia at bay?

Your videos are so helpful and informative! I saw your other video that azeleic acid is safe for pregnant / nursing mamas. I've been using Paula's choice 10% niacinamide followed by 10% azelaic acid at night for a few weeks but havent noticed any difference in my pregnancy mask. Maybe I'll up to morning / night since my skin can tolerate. Is this one as well?

Hey, I just found your channel and so far I really like it. I have a question about the JJ Labs serum, it has citric acid in the ingredient list, I read that is an irritant and that is photo inestable. I have melasma and I check everything in the inkey list

This explains so much… my lupus and RA got triggered about 3 or 4 ish years ago and my eyes, neck, mouth area, inner thighs and armpits got sooo dark.

These videos are super informative, but I always leave confused and overwhelmed…a shopping cart at the end and a sample routine at the beginning and end of the video would be super helpful or if you could organize the video captions in terms of a shopping list and sample routine.

Love your videos! Wow this is hard to choose what to incorporate to for hyperpigmentation! So many good ingredients! So from azelaic acid, vitamin c, Arbutin and this. I’m currently using vitamin c, azelaic acid and planning to incorporate arbutin. How would you recommend to do this?

Thanks Dr Alexis for this very informative video! i just recently discovered this ingredient and i was going to purchase the inkey list one but i believe the formula is actually a gel not a cream and you suggested to avoid the gels. can you please correct me if i'm wrong on this?
