@@diabloazula7643 I like Dr. Vanita too but she did not specialize in Dermatology in medical school and is not a dermatologist. She is just a regular MD....not sure if she specialized in anything or not. I think may to be a General Practitioner. After med school she become a chemical formulator of skin products. Dr. Alexis on the other hand was a chemical formulator first, and then went to medical school specifically for Dermatology. So, from a medical perspective and dermatological standpoint, I think I give Dr. Alexis one or maybe even two up on Dr. Vanita. But, I do appreciate Dr. Vanita as well for sure. Would be nice to have a video on how to incorporate Vit c, azelaic acid, arbutin and Niacinamide in a routine to get the max result without cancelling each other.
@krystinemarie49354 жыл бұрын
Hi. I've learned that Niacinamide and Vit C definitely cancels each other out so Niacinamide usually is a day serum while Vit C can be used at night. Vit c has also been recommended to be effective with alpha arbutin so put those 2 in your night routine. For the day, niacinamide pairs well with the azelaic acid. You can actually go on to The Ordinary's website (even if you do not use their products) and utilize the live chat on the order which you can use products and how they pair with each other. Hope this helps :)

@chickenstrips6233 жыл бұрын
i gotchu! 1. Oil Cleanse/Micellar Water (optional) if you wear minimal to a lot of makeup, this step would be really good for you! just an extra precaution in order to remove most makeup 2. Foam/Water Based Cleanse If the first cleanse *truly* isn’t needed, I recommend starting here. Double cleansing is really recommended, but not always needed. Start your routine off with a good cleanse to clear up oil and debris. 3. Exfoliate Like Dr. Alexis said, enzyme exfoliants are recommended for hyperpigmentation, so you can find one that suits your skin type. 4. Treatment 5. Moisturizer 6. Sunscreen (Go for a physical sunscreen! Chemical sunscreens can cause a lot of irritation, leading to worsened hyperpigmentation.) This list isn’t perfect, but this is a good start! you can fix and tweak any steps in order to suit your skin better.

A more structured organisation. 4. Focus on products to solve the problems, in a way that is easier to assimilate. The information is there somewhere, but I'll most likely have to listen to it 10 or 20 times, to decipher it all. Especially for people of colour, there is a lot of information here, a lot. Just needs much better organisation. For example the presentation format was not uniform, from section to section. I'll watch the more recent videos to see if she has an improved version.

Here's a video by Dr. Vanita Rattan who also specializes in skin of color: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i4eucmVohdqAgZI Dr. Stephens's video is really great for learning what ingredients to use and why. Dr. Rattan's video explains more on how to layer them. It seems the layering order depends on the formulation of the products. Basically, going from the most watery to the thickest/oiliest products.

I’m so happy that I found you. I love your video. The hyperpigmentation video are great since I suffered from it. Can you please do a video about your morning and night routine. I would like to know what kind of supplements are you using. Thank you!

I found this video very informative. It’s important to understand why products are recommended instead of buying products blindly. The video was very informative and helped me make informed decisions for my skin type. I look forward to watching more of your videos.
