Nice one Ben, it's a great little cookset. I've cooked little Pizza Calzones on mine - I got the idea from @offthebeatenpot on here, he comes up with great little recipes for the trangia mini 👍

Good to see you Ben, neat little carry, I've used my 25 for years, plus many other units over the years which I have. Life sadly hasn't allowed me to enjoy the great outdoors as in the old days, My wife's physical health has gone down hill since her spine operation a few years ago. I've now bought a wheelchair so at least I'll be able to get out for a walk with her :) You take care Ben, I'll catch up with your videos anon. Cheers.......Les

Nice 👍. On my Mini Trangia, I use the Simmer Ring when cooking and frying for a lower intensity burn and it's easier on the pan .. and eggs .. and fuel 😊. The Pot Gripper .. a plastic Cable Tie sized and trimmed to suit, turned inside out, keeps the pot grip jaws closed for easier storage. I have also cut a piece of Silicon Mat to fit inside the Pan. It provides additional protection for the pan non-stick surface and for under-surfaces 'sensitive' to heat .. as quite bit of heat can be transferred down through the Pot Holder / Windscreen. I have also added two of the bowls from a 70's 'Evernew' Aluminium Camping Bowl Set that slot nicely into the Trangia Pot with still enough room for the Windscreen, Burner, Pot Gripper, Mini Syringe (I like to travel with my burner empty) and a Tripod made from Bicycle Spokes and Thin Gauge Wire (this fits inside the Pot Stand for use with the smaller Camping Bowls). This, together with a 'Tatonka' 18cm SS Bowl (the Glacier version thereof is just as good) and the Lid from the Evernew Bowl Set, gives me a Cook Set with which I can do just about most things that come to mind. And, it all stacks together very nicely to boot. Thanks for sharing .. take care ..

Greetings from a Brit expat now living in sunny Malaysia🇲🇾. Your vids came up my YT feed today and watched this one - must be cos I just ordered a Trangia mini over here. Love the content and have subscribed. It's a tad warmer in my neck of the woods but wet at this time of year as it's our rainy season. Look forward to catching up with the backlog of your adventures and the new ones for this year. Take care and stay safe.

Nice. I have 2 x T27 which I use regularly, and 1 x Mini Trangia. The Mini has never been used "for real". I've occasionally boiled some water with it as an experiment. On a windy day, that pot stand offers no protection, the burner goes into "afterburner" mode and the height of the flames can be quite alarming. Of course, you can use a separate windshield, but then you're losing the lightness and compactness that you bought the Mini for. I have found the least worst option with the Mini when it's windy is to use the simmer ring a lot more than on the T27. Better a small and safe flame and a slow cook than a roaring jet engine.

Nice little look at the trangia mini mate. I have one and I do like it , but can be a bit of a pain trying to keep stuff warm while your frying more. I have put stuff in the saucepan and put that on the frying pan and vice versa to keep bits warm as you continue cooking. Take care bud 👍

Hi Ben☺ trangia worked well, and you ended up whith a good breakfast, I was gifted an earlier version of the mini, whith a ordinary aluminium fry pan / lid, and food sticks every time I fry in it, can I get the none stick lid, or have you any tips please, thanks for telling video, stay safe, best wishe's to you and your's, Stuart uk
@benhikescamps3 жыл бұрын
Hi Stuart. If I was buying a new Trangia kit, I’d definitely go for the non-stick version. I think you can buy the non-stick frying pan separately. You could then just swap out the older aluminium one. Many thanks for watching the video. 👍

i also have an older mini trangia with the uncoated fry pan, you can season the frypan with oil just like a cast iron pan and it will become non-stick as long as you treat it properly.

Great video Ben 👍 I still need to try out my alcohol stove again, tried it once and it didn’t go too well but need to give it a second chance 😁
@ukpaul92212 жыл бұрын
In my view you were probably wise to leave it in its box and just use the burner. The packed size of the Mini is not massively smaller than the Trangia 27 which is much safer and far more flexible and robust. Another disadvantage of the Mini is that you lose 50%+ of the heat to the sides and the pan is too close to the burner making it harder to control the heat. The grub looked good but I'd put the stove back in the box. Best wishes - Paul - a Trangia-lover.
@benhikescamps2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Paul. I’ve not actually used the Mini since I did this review. The burner gets regular outings though. Thanks for watching the video 👍

Beauty of 'nesting' sets is you do not have to nest as designed. I'd stuff the pot with the food and hide the burner and stand elsewhere in the pack. It's a great kit but you need to be clever with it to make it shine.

Hi Ben, I own a couple of Trangia's my original is still in full use, I have spare burners, handles etc. Other than weight reduction I dont see the point of the "mini" it seems gimmicky and aimed purely at the light-weight camper end of the market. Nice Vid though, nothing like an early stride through the woodland and a hot beveridge :)
@crazyhorsejohnny19743 жыл бұрын
I’m curious, what do you find “gimmicky” about it ?
@StevenSiew22 жыл бұрын
@@crazyhorsejohnny1974 its size.
@marzsit98332 жыл бұрын
i also have several trangias, 27 and 25 as well as a couple of 28 minis and i don't find them to be "gimmicky" at all. small yes, but perfect for stashing in a rucksack for a dayhike when you might want a hot cup of tea or coffee or soup. yes, one could pack a jetboil or similar gas burning setup but the nice thing about the trangia is that it always works, is quiet and there are no disposable fuel canisters to deal with. surround the 28 mini with a simple windscreen made from aluminum foil that is stored wrapped around the fuel bottle with a rubber band and it will perform as well as a trangia 27 stormcooker.
