Tranmissions to Consider When Manual Swapping your IS300 | W58 to W55 Conversion in the DESCR

Do you how much power/ torque a stock W55 can take reliably? Is there any worthwile upgrades to it that can give you better performance/ reliability?

These W series transmissions are getting old so instead of buying an expensive is300 w55 buy a cheap w58 and get the parts you need to make it fit like a w55 such as the shifter extender and such (link in the description) and get it rebuilt by a professional. The w58 can make 300 whp reliably but you have to keep the torque out of the low end. Some cases even show some people running 400 plus whp but again they kept the torque out of the low end.
