If you actually look at the wikipedia page of alan hart it's pretty inspiring/reassuring. He was actually able to take T and get sex reassignment surgery. He dated women despite being afab in the early 1900s, and even ended up marrying one. (Did homophobia just not become a real thing in the u.s until later or something? Or was it just looked over because he passed as male? Probably the latter ig.) Although he wasn't able to transition until well into adulthood and faced some pushback from family, he lived a relatively happy life and spoke about how satisfied he was with his transition in interviews. He died at the age of 71 of heart failure. Not suicide. And he was trans in the early 1900s. Which seems like it would be a very difficult time to be trans. In a way though, the ignorance/lack of understanding of some people likely protected him as much as it hurt him as I'm sure almost nobody at the time really understood what a trans person was enough to have actually formed a strong opinion on it previously, unlike today where it's become a big political issue. Although he was once outed as transgender and had to move. Completely unrelated on the masc cuts...first one always seems to be what my hair ends up growing out to for a short period when I get a haircut. No matter what the original haircut was. I s2g. It angers me.

Actually queerness was pretty normalized for a while in the USA. In the 1900s homophobia became more of a thing. Prior to that it was mostly just people were people.

That last person I totally agree! Detransitioning happens sometimes because the person thought they wanted to medical/social transition and/or they are trans but really something else. It doesn’t happen that much but it does happen and trans community we need to respect the journey of all people regardless if they decide to detransition and talk about it. Experiences need to be shared that is how we learn and grow.

People starting their hrt gotta remember that you're basically putting your body through second puberty, and puberty takes YEARS. A young boy hasnt started puberty when his baby mustache starts coming in, he's several years into puberty at that point. So if youre on hrt, have been on it for a few months or even a year, but youre worried because youre not seeing the results you were hoping - take a breath. Change will happen, it just takes time. You'll get there.

8:40 this tiktok sounds like my dad when he was hearing rumors about me being queer (and assumed i wanna be a boy cause of how i dress, and im trans masc nb but he doesn’t know that) and he was telling me that he had those thoughts when he was younger too (thoughts about being a girl cause he said kids would tell him he looked like a girl, made it sound like he was being oppressed when he said this) but he “prayed them away”, like sir ?? are you coming out to me rn ??

I def wasn't gonna try to rock a full on masc name... 🙃

Alan Hart had it bad, he kept having to move on because he was outed several times and he was even wrote about in a very disrespectful way in the newspapers, and referred to as like a crazy lady 😢 despite living as a man. Idk if he did ever lose his job because he was trans or if he left himself before they had the chance to wrongfully take his job. I think it's actually really sad that his amazing work isn't common knowledge, TB was a major killer that took millions of lives throughout history and this guy helped get us to where we are nowadays where TB isn't a common disease anymore in the developed world.

For the first vid, does everyone forget about the roman emperor Elagabalus. I mean technically it's "hearsay" but they literally felt gender euphoria for being called a woman and have shown signs of having dysphoria. They literally were talked about trying to basically do bottom surgery on themselves. They also preferred being called their partners "mistress, wife and queen." If that isn't proof of trans people existing, idk what is. (Reign was around 218-222)

Related to the guy who's been on t 4 years at about 11:44, I'm going the other way and I'm now 40, been on hrt a little over a year, and he literally described a LOT of my conflicts. Especially the in between feeling, the impostor syndrome due to so much time in a relatively functional (but very stagnant) life, how people know me (having barely ever done anything that didn't fit general expectations of who I am), even with extremely supportive family. Brains often recognize the new thing as the problem if anything feels off, even if it's actually because those changes highlight existing features. So transitioning later can be A Lot.

I really think my mom may be more queer than she realised. When I came out as enby, she said did say "oh I had that too". She said she had chosen a boy name, and she eventually grew out of it. (may also be dissociation bc she had a hard time as a child). We also had a discussion about bisexuality, she didn't understand that commiting to one person of one gender didn't mean you could not know you were attracted to the other gender(s). I don't remember how that went but I had the feeling she may be on the aro-ace spectum somehow. She doesn't seem to want to explore that, tho, so I dont bother her :)

My mums cousin is/was trans (idk if they've passed or not. She was at my parents wedding ceremony) She's a trans woman, Martina I believe. And I'm a genderfluid / trans masculine. My ma apparently expressed gender dysphoria. (Ma's long since passed, over a decade ago, so I'll never truly know) What I do is, by maternal lines; My Granny was a paranoid schizophrenic, an addict and abusive. My ma was a recovering addict, gender non-conforming / trans umbrella with undiagnosed OSDD/DID and possible bipolar, ontop of neurodivergency. I am a genderfluid trans-masc person with DID, AuDHD and other neurodivergencies, currently seeking a Bipolar screening, and looking into gender care clinics. I want to be androgynous enough that I'm asked "are you a boy or a girl?". That's my fluffin DREAM. Pure androgyny. Idek where I was going with this whole commemt lmfaoooo 💀 TLDR, Cisgender, Hetersexual, LGBTQIAA+; You are valid and recognised, and I really hope you are safe and loved, or are able to access safety and care asap. You are allowed to be you, and I promise - You are beautiful, handsome, pretty, cute, gorgeous, astonishing (positive). I hope that your beauty is also true on the inside. Hi everyone! If anyone here uses neopronouns (or understands them a lot), can I ask a question? I've been arguing and defending the use of neopronouns with people but I don't use them myself so I don't fully understand all of it. I know some people have more 'niche' neopronouns like fae/faeself which seem less understood by people than ones like xe/xir. I wanted to ask who uses the pronouns for you and when? I have been told before that some use they/them for strangers and then their friends or people they know call them neopronouns like fae/faeself. However, is it often that way? Lots of people have been arguing with me saying it's a 'mockery of gender' etc to try and 'force' people to call you by a less conventional neopronoun (or any neopronoun, really) but I've never witnessed anyone personally 'forcing' their neopronouns down anyone's throat. I just thought I'd ask in case anyone can answer - sorry for a long comment!!
