Tonight I put a new panel in the Trans tunnel to help hold the car together.
Next project is the roof structure/roof frame. Then we get to cut more off the back off this car! After all that is complete, I will then be adding Square tubing frame rails through out the car. Then look out for the front end as its going to get stretched out!

I have such a passion for shortening cars and truck, my first project was in 1965 on a 1962 Oldsmobile starfire 2 door hardtop with 394 cid engine, the rear wheels was just behind the front seat, in those days on Sheetmetal we gas welded with coat hanger, stick welded the frame with scab plates,, I love your theoretical design subject to change if a change is needed to suit your build

That came together very nice. I am interested to see the taper of the roof. From pictures it looks like some coupes have more taper than others. Just want to see if you can keep the Jag gas caps or if you will move them or plate over them. I know they would just be there for show, but they are so cool.

There it is, got that center tunnel tied back together. That’s going to be the strength that you need. Going forward with the roof now will be just fine and great. Keep doing you and if people don’t like it they can get over it. So many say that they would do something different yet they aren’t doing what you are doing.

To have the roof going down to the back at a decent angle, I dont think it needs to be shortened. But, if the rear end is too long compared to the daytona, then it may look odd with a longer rear end. I cant see how lengthening the front of the car will work with the body lines, especially with the lines on the bonnet / hood. You would have to remake the bonnet unless you just extend the cowl, which may look odd.

Question about your Mig.... What is it? 250amp unit? It blows me away watching you wheel that Giant Stinger....LOL Hell that thing is made for welding I beam/structural steel for buildings. I'm a Miller guy...Everyone I know is a Miller person, pretty much with a Hobart thrown in here or there. I have a 150 Millermatic that I bought new in 1992.. I didn't like a review on the newest smaller Miller... I wanted a dedicated sheetmetal Mig....025 and C02..I bought a HTP and then added the 10ft whip.... Extremely pleased with it.... Nothing aginst Lincoln. :)

@@myclassicfords3658 Yes... By the size of that Stinger... I figured a 250...... A smaller unit...130 - 140 amp unit makes it much more pleasurable to weld sheetmetal... Thats a 140 Lincoln Chad is running.

@@ianallen2 Well, I like to respond in a positive manner. If I don’t like something I’ll just stay quiet. I think this young man can use some “ atta boys”. I think constructive criticism is also good for someone, but he seems to get enough that, so……atta boy Gordon! As for Bad Chad my opinion is sometimes he doesn’t do things the way I would do them, but I’m not willing to “ throw the baby out with the bath water”, I still enjoy watching them both 👍.

@@firemanack6486 This one is coming up with the work he does, but to be like someone else is not showing his own traits. Copying someone instead of being himself can put people off. I watch a lot of video's on youtube and prefer people who are themselves and not clones of others. I stopped wayching bad chad because he never finishes what he starts. He does a lot wrong. Why people watch him and think he is great, I will never know. I like to watch a car be made from the ground up, a car hacked, stretched or shrunk, see different things, but prefer to see them through to the end and not have to wait many years to see it in bits and bobs. I am hoping this Jag is built until the end. It is very intersting for me. I am hoping one day, I will see someone convert a hearse into a pick-up, like I would loved to have done when I was younger, but I am too old now to do any projects. Seeing some of these guys fulfilling some of my dreams is enjoyable. I drew hot rods on the back of my school book covers and said to my school mate I would build one one day, but never had got around to it.
