How many times can you heat the print? And does it effect the print? I think I over heat a print and now it cracks after washing
@transferexpress Жыл бұрын
Any heat transfer should not be applied longer than the recommended application instructions. In some cases, overapplying can burn off and ruin the adhesives so the transfers peel up, or, like you noted the inks will over-cure leading to cracking in the prints and opacity issues on darker garments.

Can I do double pressing with goof proof as well? or will that melt the glue? thanks!
@transferexpress Жыл бұрын
Yes, you can double press Goof Proof screen printed transfers similar to how we did this one, just take caution to limit the overla,p as the adhesive will be fine with a double press, but, the plastisol inks can become over applied- leading to durability issues down the road. With Goof Proof, the maximum single image size is 12.5 x 17.5", which will fit on a full-size 16 x 20 press, while the maximum areas of our ultracolor max (22 x 22") is a little bit too big. If you have text or elements you can separate (Similar to how we do it in this video) so you only have to press each section once. Also, Just be sure you're peeling the carrier of the applied part while it's still hot, otherwise the ink will stick back to the paper carrier.

What did you use for the cover sheet to block out heat to half the design when you pressed it?
@transferexpress Жыл бұрын
Great question! We used one of our paper coversheets: www.transferexpress.com/heat-press-accessories/cover-sheets They're similar to butcher paper but without any coatings or wax and made specifically for use on a heat press. Sold in packs of 10 as oversized 12.5" x 15" sheets they're a bargain for just $3!

Can this also be done on curing silkscreen shirts? Thanks in advance
@transferexpress Жыл бұрын
Hi CheezeCakee, that's a great question, It depends on the inks you are using as double-pressing some areas with screen printing inks can over cure the inks causing them to be brittle and crack.

How would you set this up on a press that you cant slip the shirt under like this first transfer you did?
@transferexpress2 жыл бұрын
You shouldn't have any problem just laying the shirt over the lower platen and printing the transfer like we did at 06:47 here in this video. Just be mindful of any collars, wrinkles or seams under the printing area. After the first press the transfer wont move so you can gently slide the garment over keeping the shirt straight underneath the side of the transfer thats not applied.

Which printer your using?
@transferexpress Жыл бұрын
For our custom DTF transfers we're using our own proprietary machines we built through years of research and development- That along with a mix of different inks and adhesives with specialized dryers- We wanted to bring the best Direct To Film prints to market, with low temp application, hot peel and no need for a second press- which took a lot of work. For pressing the shirts here we're using the Craft Heat Press: www.transferexpress.com/heat-presses/craft-heat-press
