Ragnar changed his values, at the start of the series be was a firmed believer of odin and near to his end he said that he doesn't believe in any god what so ever

Personally, I don’t believe this is actually what was happening with him internally. His character was always unpredictable. Ragnar was a perfect example of dichotomy. Two extremes learning to try to coexist. Maybe even more than two. I think he was still a believer in Odin, accepted other gods, considered more than one god or gods, believed they all may be the same with different faces, and none at all. All at the same time. I also think his beliefs followed his very clear transformations he went through. I also think the spirit of Odin visiting the sons affirmed what his beliefs were when he died. Or rather what he wanted them to be. To me he actually went full circle and at the same time also made a complete diversion at the same time. Just my 2 cents. His arc and beliefs did not end right at his death. I think that was what lived on through his sons and even his brother, floki, and even lagertha. Possibly even his rivals and peers.

8:20 Actually, he kinda did lie multiple times either for revenge, or to achieve his goals.

Ragnar abandoned his family, was unavailable to his children, was an opiate addict and strangled a woman to death for absolutely no reason. Think I’ll take lesson on being a man somewhere else

you didnt mention it was a harsh time back then and he had to be away for long times to seek treasure for his family, he strangled that woman for a reason that you'd know, if you had seen the series. and at the end he asked for forgiveness to all the people he hurt and admitted he had done alot of things wrong in the past.

@@grayokay lol well as long as he apologized to the corpse and to his kids for murdering that woman right in front of them and for abandoning them and to the priest he murdered while he was stealing their treasure for his family then I guess it’s all good. I did watch the series and it was good. Vikings were real pieces of shit. So funny because half the people who watch that show want to be Vikings and they are the same ones accusing the Mexicans of coming and stealing, raping and terrorizing. Same stuff their heroes did
