I learned as a hotel housekeeper during my college years to have the closed side of the towels face out. makes each individual towel look thicker rather than segmented. Looks better than all the open edges facing out.

When people ask how I keep a minimal home (not stark, just have cleared out items I no longer like or use for 1 year or more, my house is cozy but not cluttered) and how to get there my response is “How do you eat an elephant? Answer: 1 bite at a time.” I am getting closer to starting to help people IN their homes vs giving advice. But the thing I would suggest to anyone here who doesn’t have someone as awesome as Renee to come in and do this to your home is this: which room or area of your house causes you the most angst, anxiety, frustration? That is the room to start in and start with one drawer, one cabinet, or one box at a time, touch everything in that drawer, cabinet or box, be ruthless with yourself, empty it and have trash bags (or boxes) designated for trash, donate or keep; clean that one area and put back what you are keeping, go throw the trash away and bring that donate bag straight to the place you’re donating it to, do not keep it to bring later. Once that one drawer, cabinet or box is done, move to the next area, I always start from left to right, top to bottom. Decluttering is hard, letting go of sentimental items is even harder and to have someone like Renee eases that but we don’t all have a Renee so we have to dig down deep and just do it. Renee, you are a blessing!

I think the family will notice an improvement in their overall health. Less clutter and less stuff will improve mental anxiety and also be less stressing to people with autism. Thank you for all you do. Brings tears to my eyes because I know how emotionally damaging all this stuff is to our psychological health.

98% of the time, I'm right with you in your organizing decisions. But I don't think under the stove is the best place for the pots and pans. There are just too many of them. The way the kitchen cabinets are organized, I wouldn't think a couple more steps to fetch a pan would be detrimental to the overall organizational plan. But I do admire you and the work you do. You truly are a blessing to those families you help!
@reneeshull Жыл бұрын
@maggiesue4825 I'm glad we usually agree on organizing decisions. While I understand your concern about placing pots and pans under the stove due to their quantity. I wish there was more space for the homeowner to put them elsewhere. Your appreciation and kind words are truly uplifting, and I'm grateful for the chance to help families. Thank you for watching the video! 😊

I don't know - it's too close to the wall. It's meant to open further before it holds. I'll bet that's why the top drawer was there on the right, because if you can't open the left door all the way, it's harder to pull that drawer out. Yes it would drive me nuts too!
