Why do NONE of the design essentials videos include aftercare instructions? Such as when it is okay to wash? My hair feels horrible after the treatment. Can I was it as soon as I get home?

When you shampoo it after the treatment you will still have curls. This system just helps the hair to be more manageable

i have been using this system for the past 6 months it definitely makes my hair more manageable because before it was always tangling. the system can last up to 12 weeks but my stylist does mine every 8 just because of how my hair is. my hair stays straight for 2 weeks and i either blow it out or wear my curls until i go back to get it straightened again. never had a problem with reverting back

Just washed my daughters hair after a stylist used this system on her 3 weeks ago and her hair is still bone straight not a curl in sight im devastated trying to be patient and allow time for it to ware of but I’m afraid the products may have damaged her curls indefinitely

I beg of you all.... please do not put this in your hair. Yes, while the product is in there it looks amazing BUT the min those 12 weeks are over you will realize this shldve NEVER been applied to your natural healthy hair. It’s similar to a relaxer where you have to go & get it done every few weeks.... if you ONLY want to wear your hair straight then this is for you BUT if you want healthy natural hair NO MA’AM this isn’t for you!!!

I was thinking that if you applying a treatment that requires gloves it is a chemical. Not sure of the difference between this and a texturizer or relaxer. Will continue to make the transition without the use of this product.

I havent had a problem with it. I done it 2 yrs ago and just done it again Friday. I maintained my hair as usual I went about 4 months with it straight. I even got braids for 3 weeks and wore a wig. I just really wanted to see what the hype was about. I have nice healthy hair. I only used the products that came with the system. That was something my beautician told me.

My stylist used this product on my hair and here we are 10 months later and my natural curl pattern has not come back. I am now transitioning again. Three years of natural hair growth was ruined. Stay away from this product if you want to keep the integrity of your natural curls.

Chanda Stepney I've done this several times and my clients hair is just as curly as its always been. Your stylist may have use to much and to much heat to seal it causing heat damage. This system has been used on 100s of people and that not because of the product more so the person applying it.ijs

It's not the product. I do a lot of natural hair and I have never had any problem with hair reverting back completely. More than likely she used too much heat. It suggests using max heat of 400. Which I know from experience is safe for hair.

Your stylist used the wrong gear setting on your hair. That’s why your hair/curl pattern changed. Or perhaps you ironed it on too high of heat outside of treatment. It’s not the product it’s how it is used.

I wondered the same thing at first. The product website says it is a thermal styling system. It claims to straighten and smooth for up to 12 weeks. So Im guessing the gloves were used to protect her hands from any acids in the product. Has anyone with curly hair tried this system? Thoughts?
