I consider this to be the best battles the Transformers franchise has ever made. The reasons for this is because, we have a Transformer fighting HUMANS, not Transformer vs Human and Transformers, or Transformers vs Transformers, but purely human vs Transformers. agree.. they overdid everything in the transformers after
@Orcenraider10 жыл бұрын
TheDanishBully true, while the other battles they did for the series were cool, there is still the fact that, in all of the other battles of the series of films, transformers were also involved in the battles, instead of having more battles of humans versus transformers and only those two groups, which, kinda sucks i mean, i been a fan of transformers since as far back as i can remember, but, every battle the franchise made, up until that scorponok battle was transformers versus transformers, or humans allied with transformers versus transformers, and any of their allies, not to criticize the series i have always been a fan of, but, more battles of strictly humans versus transformers WOULD be kinda nice you know?

This movie has so many great scenes damn, this scene, the Autobots arrival, Megatron revival, downtown final battle etc, I enjoyed the sequels but I feel like people wouldn’t have hated them so much if they would’ve kept this level of quality.
@ultmateragnarok83762 жыл бұрын
The quality that was lost were a few things - in this movie, each Decepticon is... well, they _are_ somewhat similar in appearance, but they're still each unique. Each transformer looks like what they transform into to a degree, as well, while retaining their other characteristics. The combat is well choreographed, groups use tactics and each individual transformer on both sides as a discernable fighting method used to its fullest. And each uses most of what they have available to them, with the exception of Brawl who just can't work through that many weapons in his screen time (supposedly he even can use the tank cannon in bot form). Also, the plot in this movie is... there's detail and all but it's simple and understandable. Later on it just sort of becomes the same thing each time, find some legendary artefact, it's destroyed by the end of the movie, whatever happens.

I love how when scorponok lands on the more solid ground, he tests it, then says “fuck it” and stands his ground. They did him SO WELL in this. Also, he actually is vulnerable to their gunfire. He covers his face with guard plates, he dodges explosives, and he visibly recoils at hits at vital areas. He isn’t just a death machine; he’s a skilled warrior who knows his strengths and weaknesses and plays to both. It gives a lot of tension to the fight knowing they CAN hurt him, but he’s too smart a fighter for them to do so from the ground.

I feel one reason was obviously the invasion of Iraq. It can't be a coincidence that this was set in the desert. Post 9/11 this stuff just seemed kinda normal, didn't it? Nowadays, knowing what a disaster it has been and knowing the damage the invasion did to Iraq, it's people and servicemen, I reckon people don't take kindly to it.

One of the best scenes ever, in my opinion. Awesome introduction to not only an awesome character, but also the decepticons. And you have to imagine the situation from the Village's perspective. A squad of US marines, probably a scary ass sight to them, rolls up with one of the children, firing weapons frantically. They think the worst but then realize they are shooting at something behind them, running scared from something... what could POSSIBLY scare US marines?

Think about it this way: Scorponok is one of the smaller decepticons, and it was really hard to kill. Fast forward to DOTM and AOE, we have many minions everywhere, and they break like they're made of paper. AND they're bigger in mass and size. MICHAEL BAY LOGIC.

@hotdamndan98925 жыл бұрын
I think its in this first movie on the last battle that Lennox discovered how they fight back by using ammunitions that are high temp or something, it penetrates the armor easily. And also, the Autobots allied with the government giving them ideas on how to battle the Decepticon threat on Earth. So, yes, it's logical that on the next movies, they can fight Decepticons easily with the weapons they have.

2:05 - For the scene where Scorponok bursts out of the sand right on the heels of the soldiers, the effect was achieved by detonating a primer cord under the sand. The explosions would be in close proximity, and very dangerous to the actors in the scene, so before the scene was shot, Michael Bay told the actors to run and keep running no matter what happens, or else they could seriously be injured or, even worse, killed. As a result, the look of panic on the actors' faces as they flee from Scorponok in this scene, is one hundred percent genuine.

This type of scene is what the Marvel movies are missing. Like the military isn't just going to sit around while Aliens or Thanos attacks.
@lunerblade133 жыл бұрын
That is the paradox of supernatural movies. Look back in movies like this and the Godzilla franchise where they add the human element but then people complain about how the human element interferes with the alien/machine/monster of interest. Marvel is then on the opposite side of that spectrum like all superhero content where the heroes take center stage and any other level of authority is made moot or irrelevant.

I think, off the top of my head, the only time in the MCU where the regular soldiers (not counting SHIELD agents, the Wakandan military, etc.) get a chance to fight alongside the superhero without quickly fading into the background was in Captain America: The First Avenger.
