Actually its more like why Activision sucks now-a-days. I have nothing against Platinum Games or Hight Noon (They made War For Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron.), it wasn't there fault that their publisher removed all Transformers games from Steam, the Xbox Store, and the Playstation Store. There is nothing wrong with digital games, but there is something wrong with sh*tty publishers like Activision.

Bought this game purely because it was Transformers. When I found out it was developed by Platinum Games, I feel even further in love. Btw, Vince DiCola has not lost his composing touch, that final song is pure Transformers and more faithful than any of the Bayformers

I know websites usually say DiCola was the composer but he only composed the G1 sounding tracks for the intro and epilogue of the game just to clarify. The rock in game soundtrack was by Platinum composers

@cannon I know that, in actuality it was him and Kenny Meriedeth who composed the Main Theme/End Credits song, Face the Devastation. Everything else of the score was done by Satoshi Igarashi, Tetsuya Shibata & Jun Okubo. Satoshi worked on Bayonetta 2 and Xenoblade 2. Tetsuya worked on the DMC series. Jun is most known for providing vocal effects and arrangements for artists.

The second Cybertron game is the best, in my opinion. Damn near perfect, for a linear set-piece based TPS. I do still have a soft-spot for the PS2 Transformers Armada game. It was "average" in execution, but it was really interesting for when it came out. The combat was repetitive, but the levels were huge, making good use of the vehicle forms and quite fun to explore. Playing "T:The Movie" after "T:Armada" was so disapointing :(

The only thing it shares with the first two games is the aestethics in a few scenes that for some reason they tried to pass off as being connected to that series while also trying to connect it to the Bay movies, which makes zero sense. Just treat it as its own thing. It's not part of the series. The end.

I love WFC and FOC, but I think the Armada based game on PS2 is my favorite. The levels are fun to explore, the soundtrack is awesome, and all the mini cons give you so many different ways to play and strategies to take advantage of. That one kicks ass.

I love this game so much. This is one of the few games I beat on every single difficulty level. I just couldn’t stop playing this for a long time. It was like an episode from the original series that slots in really well between season 2 and the movie. There’s even a point in the game where Cybertron is sort of looking into your future and it gives you a bunch of different dialog depending on which character you’re playing as, usually referencing what happens to them in the movie or later seasons of the show. It’s so good. And to clarify what they were trying to figure out in the video, it’s on Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, and PS3, for those looking for it. Only preowned though as that publisher doesn’t have the Transformers license any more.

James & Mike, aside from the U.S. G1 Cartoon where Optimus Prime & Rodimus Prime (Convoy & Rodimus Convoy) along with Ultra Magnus, were the leaders of the Autobots (Cybertrons) who reside in Cybertron (Seibertron) for the most part. Also, you guys should also give a look on the Japanese G1 Anime which spawned four titles: Headmasters, Masterforce, Victory &, Zone. These shows have four unique leaders, they were: Fortress Maximus, Ginrai, Star Saber &, Dai Atlas.

War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron (or whichever way around they go) were originally intended to be a G1 reboot which many people had been asking for, but because the Transformers: Prime cartoon did so well, they decided to pivot it to be a prequel to that series instead. ... or so I've read. There's also quite a decent PS2 Transformers game which no-one ever seems to mention (or remember) called Transformers Armada. It came out well before the Bay movies. It might just be called "Transformers" but it's based on the Armada toy line.

In case you were wondering James & Mike, this games events happens before the movie. Since Mike has played the game through before try out playing it as all the Autobots. There was a small cutscene when the ship's computer reads the futures of each Autobot such as predicting deaths of Wheeljack and Prime. So that's the reason why movie characters are mainly absent. (Galvy, Sweeps, Hot Rod)

The way this game story played it was like a prequel to Transformers The Movie because of the reference to Unicron in the cut scenes. The sequel would've had you taking on Nemesis Prime and whatever apocalypse he was trying to bring to Earth.

Early MTMTE and Last Stand of The Wreckers are probably the best written pieces of TF fiction ever, but Lost Light, Barber's stuff in general and especially the tedious reboot from earlier this year are really bad. I'd take Budiansky and Furman's old Marvel run, and even the campy-goofy fun of the Sunbow show over those. And then there's Mike Costa's run from the early 2010s. Costa's run was legendarily awful.

To think that G1 Transformers was one of the things that started this friendship (besides the vomit of course), do it is nice for them to play this game, it feels right.

I wonder how would you react to the easter egg weapons of other instalments of the franchise? Optimus Primal's swords, Movie Optimus' energon swords and DOTM Megatron's fusion shotgun, the Transformers Prime Star Saber, Forge of Solus Prime

Played it on my ps4 as first ps4 game. Really enjoyed it, worth a 2nd play through but little after that. Visuals where definitely high standard.

It has more replayability if you want to play as every character, though for me I only played as Optimus, Bumblebee, and Grimlok. If only they would have made seperate levels for each character, that would've been the tits!

I woulda loved a follow-up game with Rodimus Prime and his group, and the antagonist could be both Galvetron and Nova Prime, the end of Devastation did set it up so it looked like he was coming back.

It was released in that brief period where a lot of multi-platform games were released on 360, ps3, xb1 and ps4. ps4 is the way to go as it turns in a solid 1080p 60fps which you want for a fast action game like this if pc's unavailable

This game is really satisfying to watch. You guys could do a series with transformers gameplay, but the good ones. The nerd can do the bad ones.
