A lot of people have already mentioned how cool a transforming KITT or A-Team van would be (and I heartily concur!); but for me I'd love to see either a) a transforming Batmobile, preferably styled after either the Adam West TV version and/or the 1989 Michael Keaton film version, or b) an official transforming TARDIS a la Doctor Who, yes? (I have a T-shirt featuring the latter design, but it'd be nice to have a proper toy of it too, yes...?).

I have this box version for two good reasons. They are the packaging reminds me of the 80s packaging of Transformers. And the other reason for it is the fact that I just prefer it over the later version.

I can see Ectotron trying to capture Unicron since the latter is a dark god of the Transformers lore, in essence a Robotic Paranormal Entity. Then you have Bludgeon meddling into mysticism and alchemy. Transformers lore also has a lot of spiritual stuff that can fit Ectotron as a Cybertronian lol

Such quality video's, being in my late 40's, I am an 80's purist and I love both properties, so when I first heard of this thing, I was hating the Idea. and being that they both came out at the same time, would never have happened in their heyday, that being said, after this awesome review I now see it as genius. The 2 companies never would have done this back then, but it actually meshes beautifully. I can actually see teletran 1 scanning the ecto 1 , just wish there was an autobot symbol on it. but all in all a perfect looking bot, as well as vehicle. This would have been a huge collectible if it came out in the vintage line as a send away or something special like that, actually love it!

I'm glad to know this guy is still available. I usually regret jumping on toys like this since they disappear quickly. I regret missing out on the TMNT/Ghostbusters crossover figures. Those things faded fast. Maybe I'll make this guy a birthday gift to myself. Love the intro, Happy 2020!

That is pretty cool the Ecto-1 Transformer went into production, I've only ever seen this as a concept or fan made action figure. The next 80s vehicles they *have* to make in Transformers is KITT from Knightrider, Airwolf and Street Hawk!

Man, I need one of these! A bit out of my price range for a modern toy, but they nailed the aesthetic, and that Slimer looks like the most accurate sculpt so far. I'd love to make a mold of him and enlarge it a bit to fit other Ghostbuster lines. Your group shot at the end is right on!

Headmaster KITT binary bonded with Michael Knight. Headmaster Airwolf bonded with Stringfellow Hawke and Dominic Santini is his Targetmaster weapon. Street Hawk is too small to be bonded with a Jesse Mach figure, but would still be an interesting Transformer.

Hey Mike, just a heads up, this figure's blue hose is made up of a fo-rubber PVC stuff that will start to melt into the plastic if it touches for a long period of time. There is a discussion on TFW2005 on the weird affect. Same thing that happens to ROTF Bludgeon.

In My Opinion, EctoTron is the Best Looking Ecto-1 Toy. The Jada One is Fine, it looks a Little Flatter, It’s Missing Some Lights on the Front and Back. The Playmobil One Kinda has the Same Problem, But The Front is Way Off from the Real Deal.

If you haven't already, I would highly recommend reading the Transformers/Ghostbusters crossover comic series in which Ectotron debuted, as well as all of the other Ghostbusters comics that IDW have put out over the last few years - especially their two Ghostbusters/TMNT crossovers, yes? When I drew Ecto-1 as a 'CARS universe' character. He resembled his shorter toy version, rather than the real longer version. I was a little upset or disheartened that I spent so long working on the design, and then realise that it was too short, before someone pointed out, that it resembled the toy version, and restored my pride, and put a huge smile on my face.
