I know it's accurate, but I wish they'd found a way to keep the windshield from hanging off the back of the robot mode like the tails on a tuxedo. I want to see the Energon version of Rodimus in modern sculpting...also wonder if the Energon figures will keep their combining gimmick for legacy.

I love seeing Hot Shot making a massive comeback now, he is one of the best characters and to me both Hot Shot and Hot Rod are my favorites (They are the same chatacter, Hot Shot just got that name because the trademark for Hot Rod wasn't secure) Now, if we could finally get that Animated Hot Shot figure it would be great.

I've got no attachment to the Unicron Trilogy in general nor Cybertron Hot Shot, but MAN does this guy look SICK! His botmode is so cool & his carmode is swish as heck! I actually want him so I can have a Hot Shot in my collection! And, a Goldbug retool/repaint would go SO hard! Also, I could pretend Hot Shot is Optimus's son. lol Same with Hot Rod & maybe Bee. I don’t know if it’s nostalgia talking but this one is an 8/10 for me. The OG one is still a 10/10 even with all the articulations limitations in robot mode. The original Cybertron line was the best transformers ever made, great quality on the plastic, great details in painting (although this one specific bot loses paint very easily) and great “innovations” regarding in transformations and gimmicks.

This is great for fans of the Mini-Con Trilogy, but for the rest of us, I wish he wasn't so... kibbly. The windshield and side window might be screen accurate, but man do hey look terrible handing on his waist and arms. Would have been nice his Hasbro had thrown in a couple of extra hinges, just so you could have the OPTION of folding them away.

My personal favorite Hotshot design is animated. His mold is based on the armada one, but it's more cleaned up. And he has the Cybertron colors, that are more original. I hope we get s deluxe in the future.

You forgot the shoulder rotation, which I'm sure looks odd being so high up over the torso. Maybe a little TOO close to the original. Part of updating figures is reducing bulkiness, and this figure is very light on that. The head sculpt is kinda crap, too. The face isn't very good compared to the original, it doesn't match the character model at all. They should have redesigned the shoulder transformation. They really needs an upgrade kit. The toe transformation is garbage and doing it that way deprived the ankles of much needed filler. And actually doesn't match the animation either. More fertile ground for an upgrade kit. Don't like the way they did the windshield tabs. At minimum they should have painted the extended bits to preserve the outline of the windshield. It seems to have way less molded-in detail than the original figure, too. The engine block and the wheels are the most egregious. All that being said, that is damn fine looking alt mode!

About the Hot Shot alt modes comparison. There is no comparison. They screwed up the alt mode on Armada Hot Shot. The entire thing is flattened and the wheels are too small.
