One of my favorite things about the movie was when Optimus kneeled down to his fellow miners instead of looking down on them. He treated them with respect and equality despite his larger size.
@milkiassamuel780Ай бұрын
Exactly. That was probably my favourite scene in the movie as it truly brought back the Optimus Prime we've been waiting to see. I loved Orion's arc in this movie and how he grew from being rambunctiously reckless to learn how to grow and make up for his unintentional selfishness by trying to make things better for Cybertron but at the cost of his own life and losing his best friend becoming his mortal enemy which downright heartbreaking. I loved how Orion never saw the other miners as beneath him as he knew them all as his family and friends kneeling down because he values them all, and doesn't see himself as any different to them. He saw how much the other miners looked up to him (both figuratively and literally) and understood how much responsibility he bares now and despite how own self doubt he knew people like Elita believed him him giving him the courage to inspire the miners to fight back against Sentinel. That right there is the compassionate, kind, heroic and fatherly Optimus Prime we love and Chris Hemsworth was truly excellent as Optimus as he really embodied the character yet made the character his own but honouring Peter Cullen's legacy as one of the greatest pop culture heroes for generations.
@TheRealAmericanManАй бұрын
He does this a lot in the Bay movies as well.
@EbullientSMPАй бұрын
One cool note I found is that Optimus Prime was kneeling down to his friends in direct contrast to Megatron standing up against Sentinel Prime. It's a direct parallel flashing between the two which shows why each character became the leader of their respective sides. Optimus "kneels down" to watch out for and equalize with others. Megatron "stands up" against oppression to prove his ideology is the necessary one.

The fault in Anakin's turn comes down in relatability, media literacy, and execution. Anakin was always intended to be an emotionally unstable and detached protagonist and not so much a relatable one. Which is a more grounded take because people that are the former are more likely to become mass murders than latter. People often miss that Anakin did not have much choice as far as we was concerned with the Jedi being disinterested in his plight in spite of what he did for them while Palpatine acted as a confidante since childhood that cared about his problems. I can guarantee most people would choose a trusting paternal figure over a as school that is suspicious of them. The execution of Anakin's turn could have been done better; more focus should have been given of Palpatine's growing influence and Anakin deciding to kill children after his fall is too sudden and cause such tonal whiplash. Still, far more sensible then Luke giving up and throwing everything away all because he had a dream.
@KYRSZ-gd1qtАй бұрын
I agree. I do not understand why everyone seems over the moon with this movie as well. IMO the 180 D16 makes in the movie is worse than the Anakin 180 because they at least built that up for two movies and when he turned it kind of made sense based on the character's actions and what we had been shown. D16's turn and motivation for the 180 was told, not shown. IMO the person that made the most sense based on qualities of their character shown in the movie was Orion Pax. His character I could see being irrational based on what we were shown in the movie, vice being told D16 was a simp for Sentinel Prime. It would have been nicer to tell the original origination of Prime and Megatron which was Megatron revolting against the rich (as a miner and creating the Decepticons) who at some point meets the bots Orion Pax and Ariel (romantically involved btw) down the road while they are working at a shipment dock for energon, and then who proceeds to murder them for that shipment of energon. Orion Pax is then upgraded and rebuilt by Alpha Trion into the bot we all know and love "Optimus Prime" as well as Ariel receives a rebuild into Alita-1. However, then it would not be a kids movie, BUT it would still have made a better story then what we got IMO.

Loved that friend turned enemy relationship since Watching TF Prime and I’m so happy they did it justice here. I really gotta peep the comics now especially the new Skybound run which I heard is amazing.

Every Transformers film has been promoted like "the secret origin of the Transformers" while either telling nothing or contradicting itself, and people are tired of it. Transformers One actually delivers on that origin, but it failed because the marketing focused more heavily on the immature humour and "trending" actors rather than the weight of the story. They finally made a Transformers film starring Transformers yet STILL managed to make it about humans. Paramount played themselves.

Transformers One truly feels like a step in the right direction for Transformers movies in general. It's so well-rounded that it has details for avid fans to pick up on, a story solely focused on the Cybertronians on their home planet for Transformers movie-only folks, and iconic and organized lore for non-Transformers fans who are curious. The story is tragic and heartfelt, for all ages to enjoy, and the lore gives the franchise its unique identity. Meanwhile, some of the usages of Cybertronian anatomy, especially in the final fight gets me all giddy, because they feels like ideas a kid would think of when playing with their toys, or a stop-motion animator would think of when crafting a stop-motion. Anyways, thanks for the video, and I if enough people in comments recommend you to read some of IDW's Transformers comics, please consider doing so. I'd recommend doing some research, and seeing what to read to lead you into The Wreckers Trilogy, Chaos Theory, and MTMTE + The Lost Light, as well as some stuff tied to Megatron's origin story.

One of, if not my favorite detail in this movie is the way they show Orion’s rise to greatness and becoming Optimus Prime and D-16’s fall to darkness and becoming Megatron through Orion’s voice and D-16’s eye color. Orion’s voice starts out a lot like Chris Hemsworth’s normal voice when he’s less serious, more of a troublemaker, but as things go on, he gets more serious and he accepts his position as a leader, his voice gets deeper until the final moment of the movie where he says “I…am Optimus Prime” and I’m just like “Oh yeah, that’s gonna become Peter Cullen”. Meanwhile D-16’s eyes start off yellow, after they find out the truth about Sentinel Prime and he says he wants to kill Sentinel there seems to be a bit of orange about the edges of his eyes, after his fight with Starscream where he nearly kills him they even focus on Orion seeing D-16’s eyes become orange, and then when he accidentally kills Orion and we get that moment of him looking at Orion now with red eyes and says “I’m done saving you” (I don’t remember the last time I got chills like that from a movie, like GOD DANG!!!), and by the final scene we see both of them and are just like “Yeah, they are officially who they’re meant to be”

But for me my passion for Transformers has only grown more and more overtime and I'm serious. Blame that hack producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura for ruining Transformers movies altogether. Michael Bay’s style was a big problem with the films but Lorenzo was the one who kept encouraging him and why the sequels all turned out bad, as well as why Rise of the Beasts felt like a cheap, bland rehash of everything we’d already seen before and then trying to shove a G.I.Joe crossover down our throats. I’m honestly amazed he hasn’t been fired already after four financial bombs in a row now. He also produced the Madame Web film so go figure.

There’s 3 Things I have to clarify, 1. I’m ok with the Quintessons not showing up, I’m aware how much of a Threat they are but the whole point of this Movie is how Optimus Prime and Megatron began the Formation of the Autobots and Decepticons, IF the Quintessons had appeared more often it would ruin the Film and we won’t get any Sentinel Screen Time, 2. Elita wasn’t the one that had the Idea of using Arachnid to Expose Sentinel, It was Orion would did a Quick Thinking when Arachnid said I can see Everything showing showing how Clever Pax is with his Sharp Edge and Mind, and 3. Bee was done good enough, I get that the Character didn’t evolve but Bee has done Well Enough, his presence is literally the Beginning to Pax and D16’s Journey to who they are destined to become as it was a Red Flag when they found out that there’s 50 Sub Levels instead of 40, his Creation Steve has the Map, and while I thought he was going to ruin the Movie with the Comic Relief I’m surprised there’s Layers of Humanity especially when Sentinel captures him and Dee and Dee stood up when Bee didn’t want him to stand up because he doesn’t want to see his Friends Hurt, like the Quintessons I’m pretty sure Bee will Develop especially when he losses his Voice in the War, anyway this Movie was amazing, not only is it one of the Best Movies of 2024, but it’s clearly the Best Transformers Movie of all Time, the Voice Casting was Great, the Story with the Evolution of Optimus Prime and Megatron is Interesting and Heartbreaking, Sentinel Prime is one of the Best Modern Villains in a Long Time that he’s definitely giving Homelander Vibes, and the Animation and Setup are Flawless, 10 out of 10, I’m hoping this gets a Trilogy because it deserves it and I would love to see more content from this and the Franchise.

I kind of feel like I’m in the minority on this one, I love the story on paper and what all they’re trying to do, just wow sometimes it feels like a Marvel movie in the bad sense. Admittedly the old cartoons were kinda quippy and light heart feeling, but this one felt kind of annoyingly modern. I’m sorry too but I could never stop hearing Thor for as much as I loved Chris in Furiosa as well. Glad everyone is enjoying this one but it didn’t really click with me, and I thought it moved weirdly too fast or that the material felt condensed. Maybe it’s a user error, I’m also told Prime or whichever show did this same story is better, maybe I’ll give it a watch!

Even though it is a good movie, the pacing was solid, the characters were well played, the voice acting was solid, the setting was amazing. and yet, this movie is not making the money that it should be making, I am hoping that people go out and see the movie

SO Happy to see you covering TF: One. I just hope this movie can continue to grow and make enough money for a sequel. It is nice to see mutuals and people I look up to all covering something I love so damn much.

Also, the subtle contrast between Megatron giving himself his name and Optimus being given the name is 👌🏿

I implore as many to PLEASE go watch this movie NOW, as I just got back from rewatching it for the 2nd time & I guarantee you this is *THE BEST TRANSFORMERS MOVIE I'VE EVER SEEN!!!* Everything from the stellar animation, music, fantastic fight scenes and choreography, the story, the character arcs and fantastic voice acting was just incredible. Chris Hemsworth and Brian Tyree Henry truly blew me away, especially because they absolutely killed it as Optimus and Megatron and brought a level of humanity to the characters as you truly understand where both of them are coming from and how much they care for each other as friends as it genuinely breaks your heart watching them fall apart. The movie is also surprisingly dark as the trailers did not do this movie justice. There are genuinely a few mature and gruesome moments that shocked me and made me question whether this was a PG movie? It may have some moments of fun and levity for kids, which is actually funny, but when it needs to, it knows when to take itself seriously. It knows that the audience is smart enough to understand the Transformers franchise lore, which I appreciate. Please don't let this movie fail. It needs your support now more than ever. This movie deserves a trilogy of Transformers movies on Cybertron that explores the Civil War and the Fall of Cybertron. The trailers and terrible marketing are doing that movie a disservice by putting people off to how much of a masterpiece it is, and currently okay at the Box Office but deserves way more love and recognition, and that's such a shame because it is genuinely the most well-written Transformers movie Ive ever seen with a character that actually grows. You care about it, and it deserves to be a success to get Paramount to understand that as fans of this franchise, we want more of this! The fact that one guy on Twitter is putting more effort and dedication to promote this movie in a positive and passionate display, way more than Paramounts entire promotion/marketing team did is truly remarkable. Please go watch this FANTASTIC movie instead of Joker 2 because it deserves your love and a sequel more than Joker 2 ever deserved a sequel to begin with.🙏❤️🔥🤖

I initially saw the trailers for this movie and thought transformers was just done for good. I saw so many people saying it was an amazing experience and had to watch it. This movie is fucking peak I cannot stop thinking about it. D-16 letting go of Orion and the scenes after are cinema it had my jaw on the floor. The dynamic of the two and both sides making mistakes in their brotherhood is perfect. Best transformers experience since dark of the moon.

What felt like a triumphant moment in the movie actually was sort of depressing for me. When Optimus held out the matrix and T-Cogs and Energon started flowing into Cybertron. When you remember that the reason the Autobots leave Cybertron was because it was dying and emptied out of resources, that scene becomes a foreshadowing on how dire things will get. And I hope we get to see this planet's decline if it ever gets a follow-up.

Bought it as soon as it released on digital. It deserves a sequel. This is the closest to G1 it's been since 84.

I deeply regret not watching this in theaters when I had the chance. I saw the entire movie here on youtube in crap resolution, but it was still an amazing experience. Would have loved to see it on the big screen and contribute, however small, to the posibility of a sequel.

i hope this genre of transformers will be the best! since im missing the old triology of transformers some people might disagree with me here since i grew up watching the 3 movies i dont know why for me age of extinction went down for me but seeing a new TF movie in a new timeline makes me want to have a sequel we might even get a rematch of Prime and Megatron

I have wanted a movie depicting the golden age of Cybertron since I was five. The opening to Bumblebee felt like living proof that the vision is worth looking more deeply into. Transformers One was amazing. The voice actors won me over despite my desire for the G1 voice actors I admire, and the pace escalated satisfyingly. I went opening day with my mom who loves Transformers and my sister who thinks they're pretty cool. I went a few days later with my younger brother who loves Transformers and still talks shop with me about them. I wanted this movie to win over more sparks than it did so far, but I'm not counting out the chances of a sequel or more. The 86' movie cannot be dethroned to fans like me, deep into the lore and characters, but Transformers One holds the second podium of the race easily. This movie is outstanding and I wish more people would figure it out and give it the respect it deserves. Take us back to Cybertron.

My favorite moment in the film is when sentinel betrayal is revealed Megatron breaking point. He anger so strong his eyes changed to reflect it. He was a proud miner. He was happy and honored to be apart of the force that supplies energy to his people. But in the end it was a lie. His freedom was stolen, his ability to change his form stolen. And they been working every miner to the point of near death for a lie. His life was a lie. And he was only one of the millions of cogless miner's who had the same done to them. The only recompense for these transgressions on himself and the people of cybertron is sentinel spark

My kid loved watching this movie so much, & he’s really gotten in to their toys now. I enjoyed this movie too, but my only complaint is Megatron’s transformation to bad guy. It was so unbelievable. It happened so quick.
