Y'know, the combination of the (kinda groan-worthy) comedy in the trailers, the "robot only war story", the "dark and violent", and lots of heart gives me kind of an MTMTE vibe. Which would be fantastic, since MTMTE is one of my favorite pieces of TF media (others being TF Prime and Skybound - which also do dark + sincere + goofy to varying degrees).

As somebody who grew up with Bayverse, I'm so tired of live action stuff also. It's literally the same exact predictable bs over and over. We need real story telling again.

I don’t think I’ve gotten tired of it but hearing that the next film was going to be a crossover with GI Joe decimated most of my interest, especially since they admitted they don’t even know how they’re going to do it and it comes out in 2026

​@Twin_Takoyaki I nearly broke down in disappointment when they alluded to that at the end of ROTB. GI Joe is awful and failed, and they are trying to prop it up with Transformers. We have a problem with too much human and not enough Transformers, so they add more human in place of more TFs, and it's GI Joe so that makes it a hell of a lot worse. Let's see it fail and then told you so, but then watch them not listen and make rubbish film after rubbish film.

The biggest test for the movie will be the general audience. Transformers fans will praise the movie, that's not a problem. It's having parents taking their kids to see this movie and liking it that would make this movie a success. The last one was liked very well, but it basically just broke even. Hopefully most of the regular audience will put the bayverse movies out of their minds and just give this movie a chance.

That's the issue. Trying to put Bayverse to bed in people's recollection will be hard as the last two Bay films and then Bumblebee were so bad that they hurt the brand significantly. ROTB was a little better but was still far too much human junk.

Cant wait for a new animated Transformers movie the Bay verse have been milk to death with disappointment after disappointment for me the last time i saw a transformers movie in theater was Dark of the Moon .I still not have see TF5 and Rise of the beast !!!

I’m over live action esp since they made the cons all look the same! I really don’t care for this movies look & having animals on the planet with actual plants! I don’t have high hopes for this movie!

Here's the main thing I like about Transformers: One...ALL of the character models of EVERY SINGLE Transformer is locked in when the first animation starts for that Transformers. This gives Hasbro time develop, produce, and release movie related toys that 100% MATCH the movie characters. The live-action movies are HORRIBLE, from a toy perspective, for several reasons: 1. The live-action Transformers character models were constantly being tweaked and changed. We saw this RotB, where they kept screwing around with the RotB Optimus Primal character model...so that RotB movie related toys that Hasbro developed didn't 100% match. We also saw this with RotB Cheetor. 2. Because the live-action movies have to spend money to pay actors and for the location shoots, the budget to create the alt modes and robot modes for every single Transformers is the first thing that gets cut. We saw this with RotB Airazor, where the budget to develop Airazor's robot mode was CUT!!! WTF?!? 3. With the live-action Transformers character models being constantly screwed around with...the fandom has to hope that years down the road that Hasbro will develop and release the live-action movie accurate toys. 4. Because the live-action Transformers character models are constantly screwed around with...the live-action toy sales crash and burn. Walmart and Target both put their RotB toys on clearance. And, around 2024-08-17, my local Walmart got rid of their REMAINING RotB toy inventory to make way for the Transformers: One toys. I personally think it's pretty sad and pathetic that RotB toys were shelf warmers in both Walmart and Target for more than a year. 5. When the live-action Transformers character models are constantly screwed around with, interest in the live-action movie significantly drops when folks see the actual live-action movie and then see that the live-action Transformers character models were changed from the first trailer. Can you imagine how poorly the Batman 1989 movie would have done, if the Batman 1989 costume was significantly changed after the first trailer?!? Bottom line: If Hasbro wants to continue the Transformers live-action movies, then they need to do what was done with Transformers: One... 1) Lock-in EVERY SINGLE Transformers character model, before their in-movie CGI work is started. Do NOT change any live-action Transformers character models, after the first trailer has been released. 2) Spend the freakin' money to have an alt mode and robot mode for EVERY SINGLE Transformers that appears in the live-action movie. If Hasbro can't do that, then it's time to end the Transformers live-action movies.

The dream for me would be the big super CGI G1 production like the beginning of Bumblebee. That is what we want and its obvious that that is what the world wants, but the fools want to make films with Hispanic cultural references and racism against white people over cool robot wars. Imagine how good ROTB could have been without the humans as main focus, or having been on Cybertron. Thank goodness they have gone somewhat towards my dream with Transformers One. If this is as good as promised, you never know that we may get the mega epic off the back of it. Just please god someone blow up the computers with the GI Joe xover work on it and wipe clean the minds of anyone that ever thought that that awful franchise could be propped up by Transformers and that it could ever have been a good idea, TFs has been struggling enough in the cinemas as it is thanks to Bay and his pointless love stories. The Energon comics have confirmed it for me. Other than Cobra Commander, all the Joe stuff so far has been woefully bad. Its always been the worst xover in the comics since Marvel G1, but they just keep doing it and doing it. The Phase 3 IDW stuff also showed me that Transformers doesn't do xover very well in my eyes as that stuff got pretty bad in places with all the ROM and whatever other junk was in there. On its own ROM and the other stuff is cool, but it just always geels to me like Transformers does better on its own. The only xovers I have enjoyed are short gimmick ones like Terminator, Back to the Future, Ghostbusters and Star Trek. Shortlived nostalgia trips that dont take themselves too seriously and are strong brands in their own right. GI Joe just doesn't translate well in the modern world I think with the kiddie names and characters always falling into some government plot and some hero coming out of retirement. Its like a constant bad rewrite of the film Commando.
