Great review and transformation. I couldn't figure out why the lower front panels weren't securing and I figured it out! There's a step you forgot that secures those front lower side panels. You flip out these two chrome pieces underneath, one for each side, that the purple plastic panel tabs into. I'm late to the Roadking game but after I saw your review I had to get him. Thanks!

Thanks for this transformation video, first time converting to truck for me today. There's 2 chrome pieces that flip out on the back of RK's legs to tab into the front bottom side of the trailer that makes the trailer front hold together better. You should see some chrome peeking out right next to that rectangular tab under the purple part of the trailer if you've done it correctly.

Thx for this great revue, with a superb explanation for the transformation that really helped me to do mine. I just noticed that when going back to alt mode there's a die cast panel that needs to be flipped out and fills in the void that is on the side of the front panel. It's quite useful as it consolidates the front section of the trailer keeping everything tabbed in.

I like how it looks, and the transformation as you said was expected to have a lot of panels. The engineering is interesting (impressive in some cases). I like how the feet does the mass displacement for the wheels and other parts of the cab to transform to the robot's feet. Thanks for the video! Very useful and informative. I''m looking forward to see how does it combines with the remaining figures, and how fast can they release them since they have the reputation of delaying releases.

I am very impressed with the mass shifting transformation parts of this. Its amazing to me how they incorporated that. I will say I am still going with xtransbots version for right now, since I think its more in scale for my taste (and they are doing a G2 version!) but I do like how fans toys did this....really cool!

Great review and I love how he turned out especially, since the trailer is part of the transformation! The color details on the front could have been a shade lighter, but it’s not a big deal for me. I’d like to see what other 3P’s do but, I feel I’ll be sticking with Roadking.

Oh Paik4Life I'm so glad I managed to get to see your video adter two days! When you showed at 4:43 that the shoulder joint can be extended to make him look wider I became so excited cause I thought he does not look wide enough to his height and I want my MM to be as big as possible! I've been thinking now for awhile by mistransforming the feet , I can make him look even taller. Anyways. He's arriving tomorrow and I can't wait to manipulate him!

First of all, great review man, subbed to your channel because of this. Secondly I preordered this thing because I have faith in fanstoys capabilities to make a stunning combiner as a display piece because that's how I'm going to display them in the end but I don't think I am ever going to transform Roadking into alt mode. I really don't like all the panels in the trailer and while it's an impressive feat that the trailer is part of the bot, it makes me wonder why they didn't go the Optimus route and went with a trailer that's seperate from the cab. It would both modes so much better looking in my opinion.

The one thing I don't like about this bot is that front grill is part of the sole of his feet. I worry I'll scratch it or lose those headlights. The bot is awesome though.

I find it impressive that as a robot he is barely taller than MP 10, and as a truck, he is roughly the same size. Yet impede Tim is only the tractor, while this guy is both tractor and trailer. I think I would keep him in truck mode because he is a pretty bad ass looking raised roof can over truck. I would love to get all the optimist prime versions that are in the scale with MP 10, including the movie versions.

Now on to the review! *EDIT* After watching the review IMO I feel like this transformation is enjoyable compare to past FT releases. It's pretty straight forward but looks flimsy here and there during transformation. I am concern about the bottom of his foot since that's the chrome bumper/may get scratched. Overall looks good but unfortunately I'm sitting out the Stunticon Wars out bc I have other sets to finish up before starting on another. Anyways Can't go wrong with either Stunticon's Set IMHO. I did NOT anticipate wanting this guy so much. I'm stunned he's less than $200. Some people might complain he doesn't come with Menasor parts, but _ppfffffffftt._ All I want is a Motormaster figure that actually, finally, looks good and has a perfect transformation. EDIT: Actually, it might be a smart idea to sell each limbbot and torso separately, and then a separate combiner pack. So if someone just wants the solo figures they don't have to pay extra for parts they'll never use.

Good morning Henry. I like that you showed everything and got to the transformation swithly. You also had a lot of patience with those panels. I don't know if I'll be able to do that. Lol. One question I have though when you finish transforming him into a truck. This is a real question and not me trying to be ignorant in any type of way. I hate that I have to explain this but text is different from actual vocals. Do you have a rule that you have to do everything all in one take? Like for instance, when you saw that you couldn't get the panels together that well, you couldn't push pause, fix it and then start recording again? Or is it impossible to get the panels together in my question is moot?

I do cut some useless parts or mistakes, but in general I find skipping jarring when I’m trying to follow instructions mostly because orientation of the figure or parts often change when people do cuts and that gets frustrating/disorienting for me

I’m waiting for RoadKing as we speak, I’m not bothered by the pack pack as long as the figures balance is not impacted greatly. Love the fake wheels that’s a great addition, and with Motormaster you just have to accept panelling. If this is like Zeta in terms of parts forming I’m ok with that. I saw a comment below where someone said Terrible engineering? My question is why? I mean, it's not perfect but at this particular moment in time, it is the only Transformer of this scale and build that is able to pull this off... unless someone knows better? I always see comments about bad engineering and I'm just curious to know what constitutes good engineering or even better, give several examples of a Transforming figure that looks atleast 90% of its on screen counterpart and looks relatively good in its alt mode and roughly has all the articulations of regular figures out there that DON'T EVEN TRANSFORM. Examples please. I'm just very curious. @Paik4Life, just picking up on your convo with TMan978, I personally appreciate your uncut transformations because like you, I find some reviewer's transformation instructions really jarring when they keep cutting and editing the process. You and emgo are really good and show indepth transformations. Great video.

The carbots are supposed to be tall. I don't know where you people get the idea they were supposed to be short. They're the size of the aerialbots. The height and scale with the mp cars are the main reasons I went with this set. I couldn't resist the xtb set either because I'm a big fan of their's and for the price it's a nice set. I like DX9 as well but it's just the odd man out, unfortunately. DX9 probably should've gone with making protectobots or another version of devastator. Even combaticons would've been a bigger seller I'd imagine.

31:07 you said that it instructs you to slide the trailer all the way forward to cover both sets of wheels from the cab, I thought it was the opposite. I only looked at the instructions once, but since they emphasized it I tried to pay particular attention to it (not certain I succeeded though), and I thought it showed it as all the way back being correct (only over the rear most wheels of the cab). Am I wrong on that?

Thanks for the review! Love transforming my toys, and this will probably be one of my favourites to play, after TT MP Inferno/Grapple. It's challenging, but far from frustrating, just the way I like it. I love almost everything about both robot and alt mode. There are only 2 things I am not a big fan of: 1. Those fake little matchbox style wheels on his legs in robot mode. I would prefer they went with more simplistic appearance, like they did with their Willys (also similar to TT MP Ultra Magnus fake wheels) 2. I really wished they matched the colour of the arms with the colour of the trailer. I liked the early render with light grey trailer. I can see why FansToys did this, but it doesn't look good in my opinion. They should either make the trailer lighter, or the arms darker (or maybe something in between). EDIT Ok I just got this guy, and he is absolutely amazing. Looks fabulous in hand and the material/paint quality is top notch, way above any TT Masterpiece I own. I even love those tiny wheels on his legs now lol :)

Great review! I think the incorporated trailer was a massive mistake. There's a reason why Optimus Prime trailer was never incorporated into his bot mode. Don't get me wrong, it's clever engineering but what a ball buster having to transform so many panels. I hate to say it looks kinda of messy and reminds me of the Ultimate Optimus Prime. One of those really, just because you can doesn't mean you should necessarily. Bot mode looks ok! Thanks for sharing!

I disagree. The G1 toy was the cab and trailer. If anything DX9 and X-Transbots have not done it right by omitting the trailer. I've just gone from robot to alt mode for the first time and I'm impressed with the panel compression. I can't fault the figure, aside from the cab section not tabbing together perfectly underneath, which you can't see and doesn't affect anything. As it looks nigh on perfect in both modes, it's a solid 9/10 for me. With Spoiler being a 10/10, Fans Toys is onto a winner so far.

I only watched to reach truck mode last night (it was late) and just finished. For me the XTB cars are just too small next to Motormaster (at most I expect Gravestone to be a head shorter than Roadking). The Stunticons were almost only seen next to each other, and were shown to be near Motormaster's shoulder. Only reaching his waist would look bad in a Stunticon display to me. I have XTB Breakdown (largely due to it's price, but also as another Lambo) and have no plans to get more. I don't really like the way the other XTB cars look anyway. I have DX9 Breakdown and Wildrider but I don't know if I will continue or not. I'm getting FT. I am a bit worried about Combined mode since it is their first combiner, but even if Menasor doesn't work out at least I will have a great looking set of Stunticons in bot mode. My only concern on all 5 is Dead End's faceplate needs to be extended up.

The flatness on Wildrider and Dead End, and how the torso is noticibly cut in from the wider chest/abdomen on Dragstrip (similar to the issue I have with MP Ironhide's chest without the upgrade). FT used Dragstrip's front spoiler to fill in the sides of his torso which makes a big difference to me.
