12:29 actually, in the anime Transformers: The Headmasters, which is a sequel to the original Transformers cartoon, Soundwave and Soundblaster are the same character. During a one on one battle with his autobot rival Blaster, Soundwave was destroyed, but his Cassettes brought his head back to the decepticon base where he was then brought back to life as Soundblaster

As someone who was a kid when the first MP's were coming out and being fascinated with G1. Seeing how much it has changed is bittersweet, I buy more 3rd party now that I'm in my early 20's and have realized the flaws in the MP line still a dope video can't wait for the mpg line and how that affects future releases!

i have the walmart version of skywarp and its really hard for it to stand up on its own and you really need to manipulate its weight in order for it to stand but at that point I would just use the stand that it includes

Great overview of the line! I didn't realize they were ending this line, will be interesting to see what they do with the new MPG line. I was a young boy when cassettes were a thing but I definitely still remember them so Soundwave definitely brings back that nostalgia for me.

The + versions of figures are the cartoon accurate paint jobs. Some of the lettered releases are different characters completely MP12T is Tiger Tracks for example

A great high level overview, shame you couldn’t have referenced the Hasbro releases too which had some differences, for example the Rodimus Prime figure released as Hotrod without trailer but including target master, and I’m sure MP52 is Starscream 3.0 as MP3 was v1, MP11 v2, MP52 v3. You also missed the already released MPG train bots and excluded the MPM movie line 😢

you can tell the difference of re-issue by checking the blank ink stamp from the back of the box

Seems like too long since ive bought an MP, I think Arcee or Hound, its sad, so many G1 characters not done, especially the likes of Jazz. Im 44 now and my kids the MPs but they are display items, but I think I am out of collecting masterpieces for now to be honest. Oh and I owned many a cassette player back in the day!! Soundwave and Shockwave are my fave MPs also MP 10 is solid as heck. I do feel the line has lost its way.

I always thought the G would stand for Grade, similar as to Gunpla's grading. That would encapsulate every TF on the MP pricepoint, including stuff like Masterpiece movie and Beast Wars series.
