Megatron was supposed to meet with Sentinel on Earth to discuss business. Megatron knew from the Fallen about this planet thats full of life, Earth. Megatron told Sentinel, Sentinel created the pillars so he could transport Cybertron once he arrives to Earth and enslave it. But Sentinel's ship got destroyed while he was leaving Cybertron and Megatron, when coming to Earth for the first time and waiting for Sentinel, saw that the AllSpark was there. He immidiately put Sentinel as a secondary priority but crushed on Earth. 😀 boom the Michael Bay trilogy connects perfectly.

​@tmac731 His plan was never to kill Earth. He wanted to use humans to rebuild Cybertron. After Cybertron was rebuilt, he probably would have turned on the Decepticons (or at least just Megatron, leaving them leaderless, and offer a peace deal) and let the humans return to Earth.

​@tsyeap I like to think that he genuinely didn't want to betray the Autobots. He wanted Optimus to keep the Matrix to keep it from falling into Megatrons hands. He wanted the Autobots exiled so they wouldnt be in Megatron's sights. I don't believe that Sentinel was behind Starscreams actions, but rather that was a direct order from Megatron.

I see this as a scene of epilogue, warriors and leaders and innocents all looking up into the sky, bathed in the glow of a sun that shines on a new world, built on the ashes of a great battle that nearly destroyed it. Except one, one looks up not to the sun, but up, in search of the one that gave everything so that others could survive. As the theme reaches its end the view rises to the wreckage of that final battle, to the ship in orbit or crater in the earth where that hero fell… and revealing the faintest sign of life from their damaged form

Sentinel prime was written pretty good. But given he was pretty much the head guy before Optimus I feel like he would’ve been better if he was a little more remorseful in his betrayal. As soon as he betrayed the autobots it kinda felt like he saw them as pests in his way rather than his former brothers in arms. Especially when he gave Optimus his beat down towards the end, like I feel like the dialogue as he was beating down Optimus could’ve been a little more regretful about what he was doing rather than spiteful. It would’ve added to the complexity and depth of his character and not really justify his betrayal but give a more respectable conviction as to why he did what he did. And instead of him begging Optimus for his life I feel like he should’ve been more acceptant of his defeat and sort of leave Optimus with something along the lines of “Optimus, your devotion to these humans though noble is foolish… our race… our people… are dying. All I wanted was to ensure our people would survive and not live the rest of their days as refugees. To bring back cybertrons former glory… I betrayed you not out of hatred or malice, but out of necessity. One day you will see that I am right, and when that day comes… the humans would have already betrayed you and kill you all… at least you all had the chance to join me… the humans will not give you such a luxury…” then Optimus though hesitant kills his former teacher. And that would’ve given a sort of foreshadowing to the events of the future films where if sentinel had said this it would’ve carried so much weight.

He made the betrayal during the war on Cybertron. He was intelligent enough to realize that Optimus and his surroundings werent aware of his betrayal when he attacked him in the base . Once Sentinel Prime knew when to strike the strongest side of Optimus ( ironhide) he made his move

This is a beautiful masterwork! Sentinel prime is a hero, a villian, and an anti-hero as well. He is my favourite character in the transformers franchise. He was a great leader. I can sympathise with him and his ambitions. The music is perfect, and the clip below is brilliant. Thank you!

Sentinel in the movie would kills the twin brothers Green and Red Skids and Mudflap but this scene was deleted in fact all the scenes of the two were deleted from the film but in the comics they did die and this scene would happen before Bumblebee attacked the Sentinel and Bumblebee would see the death of both and he would be shocked,sad and angry and that's why he would start attacking the Sentinel but only this part of the Bumblebee was in the movie which is really a shame that these scenes were not in the movie and did not show the death of the twins Autobots 🤔🥺😔🤧 like and bye!
