Using a black background was a smart move, Ratchet would have look very odd if he had blended in with the white background.

If I remember correctly, the reason he doesn’t have crosses on his shoulders is because it goes against the Geneva Convention to put red crosses on things that aren’t affiliated with actual medical equipment. This is also why some old video games that contained red crosses are sometimes re-released with different symbols replacing them. I like the dark background by the way.

My understanding is that the Red Cross hold the actual trade mark on the symbol and they don't allow it to be used in order to preserve the serious nature of it.

If you remember a while ago, among us had to change the colour of the medbay cross from red to blue as that also violated the Geneva convention

Clear plastic is perfectly fine if it isn't used on hinges or it's not say horrible missmatched (like Sunstreaker) it's putting it in places it is going to break that is why it is a problem it wasn't a huge problem for decades until Hasbro started using it wrong. For example Siege Optimus Prime used the clear inserts in the chest so there is no issue with pain chipping or breakage at the hinges that is the right way to use it.

There's a rule that stops people from legally using the red cross, can't remember what it's called, but it has to do with its use as a medic emblem in a war zone

It's the Geneva Convention ! Basically you can't use the Red Cross imagery in anything related to war. It was also infringed in Transformers 5, because Hound wore a red cross on his helmet while blasting off dozens of enemies, so his cross had to be changed to a blue cross instead of a red one.

I have pre ordered him and I am really looking forward to seeing him. I do think it is a shame they didn't include the red stripe down the side as I was with Ironhide and his lack of yellow. Especially when they brought out the battle damage Ironhide who did get it. But that being said it is still a great looking figure and so is Ratchet.

I actually do like the clear blue plastic. Many of the original G1 designs had clear plastic for the windows. I like that they brought it back.

SS86 is really kicking the can of the old Masterpiece figures. The only thing these figures really lack is a high quality build material and accessories + hand articulation. The posing and general look of SS86 tends to be really faithful to the animated counterparts. Loving this line a ton.

I wish Hasbro would sort the weird problem they have with using really way to dark transparent blue plastic. they kept doing that with Mirage toys over and over, it's annoying. Also not putting a strip on an ambulance makes them look cheap.

I will forever be a clear plastic loyalist. It just adds a premium feel to the figures. But this was from a rime when they didnt use it for joints. Idk it just makes the cars feel more like scale model quality. I know you can see ribot joints inside but that can be fixed with darker tinted plastic.

I always appreciate it when you hold Hasbro accountable for their BS design decisions and constant short-changing, all while steadily hiking prices. I love this figure so much, just looking at him here, and I'm pretty sure I'll grab him the first chance I get 😂, but it is a little infuriating knowing that if I want one with decent decos and an actual attempt at screen accuracy, I'll have to pay extra in a year and a half. It's like they're making toys with DLC, but if the dlc was more than the original product and is often, somehow worse! Sorry for the rant. Dealing with stuff lol. I just hate the way Hasbro treats its consumers, but I appreciate that when they screw up you don't sugarcoat it. Keep doing it up bc they definitely hear you, and you're speaking for all of us lol. P.S. Still waiting to hear about that potential animated Megatron trade from my comment on your other video btw😂😂😂

I like the transparent plastic, it looks more realistic. I do think they should have used inlays here instead of making the entire panels of clear plastic. My only complaint with this mold are those hinges on the side that look a bit unsightly.
