at this point you know what you expect: you either love these movies or hate them. This movie will not change anyone's opinion one way or another. my biggest pet peeve is that the Transformers aren't even the stars of their own movies. In other live-action films mixed with cgi that are based on a cartoon, Chipmunks for example, the Chipmunks are the stars of their own movie. The voice actors are among the first couple names in the credits. Probably cuz they're big name celebrities. But Optimus and Megatron don't get that same consideration. You have Peter Cullen and Frank Welker, the original voice actors, and they're not treated as the stars because there isn't marquee value to their name like with Mark Weinberg. Yeah they're not big stars, but they're important to theTransformers fans. You know, the people you want to go see this movie. and can we just get Will Friedle to start voicing Bumblebee in the movies already? comic Drift got a lot better and less annoying in IDW's More than Meets the Eye comic written by James Roberts.

I ate the whole plate....and I found it rough to get through this movie. I'm amazed I still did. There were a too many instances during that movie where I actually contemplated getting up and walking out of the theater to request a refund. At least the kids setting a row ahead of me enjoyed recording the entire movie while their dad scrolled through his damn phone during expository scenes.

I've been defending these films for a long time but I think this was the one that FINALLY broke me. There's just no excuse for this one. One thing I've always been agitated about is they hype up certain characters for each film and they're only in there for 5 to 10 minutes. THAT NEEDS TO STOP!!!

Shane Everett I used to defend these movies by saying that they saved the franchise from disappearing into obscurity. This movie convinced me that obscurity is the better option by a long shot. At least then those who still know it like it. Now nobody can take even the best Transformers media and merchandise seriously. Hell, even Lindsay's questioning whether she's still a Transformers fan after this, and she's one of the biggest fans I know.

Does this director like to avoid Americana? Was Nelson busy? Could Bay not afford him? I can't even explain the decision as laziness. It takes real,conscious effort to get it this wrong. Explain this to me. Please. EDIT: My idea for a French Transformer. I know what Transformers 6 is going to be. Transformers: Independence Because it turns out that the Autobots where there back in 1776 and helped found America because the British were after a mcguffin and to stop them the Autobots had Betsy Ross sew the map to the mcguffin into the first American flag. And since every transformers movie needs to be racist, the Natives were dumb and worshiped the mcguffin. Also the pen that the Founding Fathers used to sign the Declaration of Independence was actually a transformer. Then at the end, Optimus Prime uses the mcguffin to become Washington Prime with a mechanical powdered wig and everything.

I think the transformers movies could have done something interesting with Optimus as a character. You got the 1st movie where he's all righteous and doesn't actually pull the trigger on the bad guy, 2 where he's a little more willing, shoots his eye out, 3 where he finally decides to put Megatron and Sentinel down, then 4 where he's more than willing to dispense lethal justice. Then maybe we get 5 where he sees a bit of a return to the *knight*-like righteousness. Instead, we get several Michael Bay Transformers movies.

The autobots (Optimus, bee, ratchet, prowl, wheeljack, hound) and the decepticons (megatron, starscream and his aerial assault crew, soundwave and his minions, ironhide, barricade, onslaught, stinger, bonecrusher, grindor, blackout, brawl) both leave in cybertron in there respective ships. While on the way to earth the autobots and decepticons clash and the autobots blow up the decepticons ship resulting in each decepticon having to leave to earth in seperate vessels. Eventually the autobots land on earth in the 1980's and awaken taking there original G1 vehicle forms. Optimus sends bumblebee to go find a televison so they can learn what trouble the decepticons have been causing on earth. Bumblebee breaks into a home and steals a TV. However a group of four kids (billy, greg, Lucas and Sam) in the basement here bumblebee and chase after him on there bikes. Bumblebee runs into a junkyard and finds decepticons iron hide and laserbeak who are planting a bomb. The kids follow him to the junkyard and are attacked by laser beak. billy is captured by ironhide, bumblebee escapes and the boys that are left along with laserbeak who is now in cassette form are all taken to the police station by an officer who was called over to deal with the commotion. While in the police station laser beak and barricade attack and destroy the station and only the three kids end up escaping. Laserbeak pursues them into the forest however right before laserbeak can get the jump on the kids the autobots step in and save them. The autobots introduce themselves to the kids and take them back to there base where the kids begin bonding with the autobots. Wheeljack who has been finding information of the decepticons through the television discovers that megatron has landed in this town and has been gathering together remaining decepticons to destroy police station and other operations of defence as well as stealing energon from gas stations and power plants. Prowl interrogates laser beak to make him give up the decepticons base. Mean while at the decepticons base ironhide brings billy to megatron who orders ironhide to kill the child. Ironhide pretends to kill billy and keeps him in his hidden away in the base in secret. Billy eventually starts to be-friend ironhide and the two from a bond. Prowl eventually finds where the decepticon base is and the autobots ready to raid the base. The autobots tell the three kids to stay behind but they refuse arguing that they know more about earth and because they feel it's there right to save there friend. The autobots attack the underground base and engage in a battle. Bumblebee fights sound waves minions, hound fights ironhide, stinger fights wheeljack, prowl fights barricade, brawl and grindor escape, ratchet fights onslaught and Optimus takes on bonecrusher, blackout and megatron. During the fight Optimus kills blackout and it is revealed that soundwave was actually posing as megatron in disguise. Meanwhile stinger and wheeljack have a battle of whits and he criticises stingers terraforming machine and discovers that's what they were stealing the energon for. Wheeljack wastes there energon supply and stinger knocks out and captures wheeljack. Soundwave along with the other decepticons escape while Ironhide escapes on his own with billy and the autobots along with the three kids are captured by the military who are bearing advanced weaponry. The autobots are taken to a military base where they are lectured by a military general for there destruction of earth. Optimus tells the general that the transformers who caused that destruction where the decepticons. Meanwhile Soundwave tortures wheeljack for wasting there energon and forces him to tell them where they could find other energon. Wheeljack tells them of a secret transformers artefact in Antarctica that can great the user unlimited energon. Soundwave calls upon transformer defector Astrotrain to take them to Antarctica. Whilst traveling there astrotrain trends to wheeljacks wounds. The decepticons also find out that the transformers are in a military base and sends brawl and grindor to blow up the base. Ironhide over hears this on his communicator and billy persuades him to to go help the autobots. Ironhide goes to the base and kills brawl while Rachet kills grinder. After this Optimus allows ironhide to join the autobots. Ironhide accepts and billy reunites with the his friends. Meanwhile astrotrain arrives in antarctica with the decepticons and wheeljack. Where wheeljack take them to the cave where the ancient artefact is buried. However wheeljack then reveals there is no artifact and the energon singinature they where following was actually that of an old malfunctioning decepticon weapon who was buried on earth known as devastator. Devastator attacks the decepticons while wheeljack try's escaping. Devestator tortures bonecrusher and riping him in half. Eventually Soundwave and the decepticons over come devestator sapping the energon from his spark giving them all the power they need for there terraforming machine. Soundwave then chases after wheeljack beating him to the point of near death. Astrotrain takes the decepticons back to there town to begin terraforming. Meanwhile the autobots are in the military base preparing for the decepticons attack when Astrotrain arrives and hands over a damaged wheeljack telling them about the decepticons plan. The autobots encounter the decepticons on a highway and engage in battle. Eventually Soundwave makes his way to the middle of the town and activates the terraformer which begins to cause a new cybertronian city to emerge from the ground. After lots of robot fights hound sacrifices himself, all decepticons are dead accept for onslaught and the terraforming on the town is reversed. Optimus delivers a final speech where he details the journey he had with the human kids and how he now sees that they are crucial to the autobots development as protectors of earth. He ends the speech with a message to any remaining autobots in the galaxy telling them to come to earth. In a post credit scene we see starscream receive some top secret government files from onslaught with the location of there real leader who has just arrived on earth, Megatron.

+Edgy Veggie There are loads of decepticon characters out there with a history of fratenising with humans or defecting to the autobots, or who would make for an amusing foil to a human. Thundercracker's the usual go-to when it comes to hummie loving although it's a little cliche at this point even though it's probably the most interesting thing about his character. Or you could use Drift, he started off as a con and left. Blitzwing left the cons in the G1 series because he didn't agree with the leadership. Dreadwing from Prime was also kinda like Drift in that he forsake the cons over his honour, but stuck with them out of a strong sense of duty so there's good character conflict there. Demolisher from Armada spent a while giving a care about human life so he'd also make a good canditate for the role especially since that story arc was in Energon so it stopped before it got interesting. Actually a good con-defector among the names you have mentioned would be Wheeljack, if you were to combine him with his Armada version, because then you could have a thing where he was an autobot but they accidentally abandoned him so he joined the cons but he feels regret over what they want him to do. Oh i'm almost forgetting the big one: Jetfire/Skyfire. Traditionally Starscream's scientist friend, in the G1 episode he's introduced in the cons dig him out of the ice and recruit him but he leaves them because they're a bunch of dicks, or in the comics shockwave builds him on earth then he joins the autobots after they steal him... so on, so forth. And they kinda had that with ROTF so it'd be something people are familiar with too. So he'd probably be the best person to do that with. That way Ironhide can go back onto the autobots and they're not so absurdly understaffed compared to the cons again.
