Not everyone enjoyed rise of the beasts as much as I did, and there are some pretty funny reviews out there. And while I'm at it lets look at the reviews for transformers 86, transfrormers 2007, revenge of the fallen. Maybe I'll do AOE, The last knight and Bumblebee in a future video.

I'll defend Prime's attitude: While I did find it odd that Optimus insisted on getting his team back to Cybertron despite knowing that the planet is definetly still ruled by the decepticons, I think it was kinda cool how this version of Prime had to learn to be like the one we were introduced to in TF1. Think about it; in the bayverse, Prime started out as this wise, optimistic leader who always saw the best in humanity despite their worst moments. But by the 5th movie, Prime openly despises the human race and is more bitter about it, leading to him taking the Autobots home by the end. The new Optimus is almost the opposite. He doesn't despise humanity, but he is rightfully cautious about openly trusting them, likely because he's seen this play out horribly with other species and he knows the history and tendencies of humans to fear, and sometimes destroy, things they don't understand. However, through teaming up with humans and learning from Optimus Primal (who taught him the sayings and values future Optimus Prime held), he learns to open up and see the best in humanity, which in turn makes him become the Prime from TF1. It isn't a perfect arc, but I think it adds more to his character and is done well in this movie.

You skipped a lot of points in that comparison, Bayverse initially also was aware of humans which is why he contacted Sam only and tried to to keep themselves hidden since he saw them as a young race that could be good and evil much like Cybertronians he started to trust them when they allied to fend off the Decepticons, disbanded sector 7 and created Nest, it was trough the interactions with Sam and Nest that he developed that always for the best view because both Sam and Nest people were 100% with him and questioned the human leaders decisions. Then DotM and Cemitery Wind happened, He tried to show the humans how the Decepticons would never leave Earth alone and sacrificed his home world for Earth and instead the humans turned on him, yet after interacting with Cade he was still willing to put his trust on Cade and still was willing to risk his life to save Earth despite the other autobots being against it, same with TLK were he was willing to doom his planet a second time to save Earth, even knowing Unicron was inside Earth. By the 5th movie he doesn't despises humans but he is far more cautious about who to trust because he learned the hard way that humans can as good as he though they could be but also worse than what he though. The new one clearly despises them, he doesn't flat out hates them but he clearly has a strong dislike that makes no sense when you take into account the "You must protect Earth, and its people" from the Bumblebee movie when he clearly doesn't care about Earth to the point he is willing to endanger it so he can go back home even more when you take into account that Bee clearly gave him a positive input of the humans and Mirage also has no issue in opening up to humans. He is even shocked in how Primal was trusting humans with the transwarp key. RotB Optimus reminds me more of Rodimus Prime than Optimus particularly that part were the home world of another species exploded and he say that it doesn't matter because can't picture any place better than Cybertron to live. If you switched them by the time of the TLK Quintessa wouldn't even need to place that mind control on RotB Optimus, he would be 100% on board with wiping Earth clean, saving Cybertron and kill Unicron in a single move, he would saw it as a full win, heck if Sentinel knows how to play his hand and doesn't kill Ironhide he has a strong shot at convincing him early on

For more classic type cinema, they’re generally pretty trustworthy. But you’ve got to remember they are just one opinion, and they are wired to view films differently to general audiences. So for films like this, their input is redundant.

Critics will never understand that not all audiences want to see an Oscar award winning emotionally deep movie that transforms our very ideas of reality. I just want to see cars, robots, fighting, and explosions from a transformers movie i liked it and i thought it was funny and 8.5/10 to me

It would be fucking nice to have 1 TF film without "hey Im french, hey Im mexican , Hey im a pair of gangster twins" characters. Transformers has amazing stories. If one of them was treated with actual respect and god forbid tried to make an Oscar worthy movie, Id prefer it over the shit we get. ROTB is the exact same as all the rest. It is defeinitely better. But its not even good.

I got in an argument with someone because they said in ROTB there's no character development, drama and how the writing is made for 5 year olds which you can say the same for half of the bayfilms. The guy also said Noah not destroying the key "wouldn't be realistic or reasonable because he just met Optimus and the autobots" no one cried when Cade risked his daughter getting killed because he didn't tell Optimus's location even though he just met him. I was just clowning the dude for being disingenuous

Man I honestly loved how prime changed. He was frustrated with himself about his decisions, and was struggling in the moment. And by the end of the film we see prime return to his normal self which is really dope, so we might be able to see noble prime. Can't wait for more tfs movies (hopefully we don't wait too long this time

I stopped listening to reviews when i realised sites like rotten tomato can get review bombed and people have lost the ability to think things are just average. Films are now either the greatest thing in the world or the worst thing ever, very few people have a middle ground anymore. The amount of times ive missed out on a perfectly ok film because its be called terrible or watched a film because it was over sold as the greatest film of all time

The Problem I had with the Bayverse was partly the Robot modes but also the constant "We don't care about your Lore" attitude or the fact Michael Bay really didn't care that much about continuity of his own vision of the franchise. Bumblebee looked like the fresh start which pleased people with the Robot modes but then Rise of the beasts felt like it skipped ahead. I just felt like there needed to be a movie (or two) in between that showed our boy Megatron and the OG Decepticons. I'm sure many people would have liked to see Starscream not look like a dorito 😉

I enjoyed the Rise of the Beasts movie. I didn’t think it was all loud and annoying. There were some quieter bits. I’d point all these reviewers to any action franchise, from Bond to Star Wars to The Expendables to The Fast and the Furious and Top Gun, Mission Impossible…… yes I know there’s a lot. But they’re all hugely successful, often just manufacturing excuses for the heroes to get into vehicles, the plan all goes wrong and everything explodes. They ALL do that and some of them are still successful. And the movie does have characters in it. Mirage is fun to be around, Noah Diaz is a former soldier trying to support his family and particularly his younger brother while Elena Wallace is pursuing mysterious symbols when she accidentally causes a major signal to be sent. My only gripe is that Wheeljack was originally a sportier model and it was Cosmos who had the Latino accent. Some people just weren’t fans of Transformers.

No human characters, have they never seen G1 transformers, human characters played a huge factor in how things played out, the interaction with humans leads to the downsized bot modes in best wars compared to the og, humans have played a big part in most of the different series

Rotten Tomatoes critic score for some reason based their score on how many critics reccomends the movie, so when it has 50% most likely 50% of critics gave it a reccomendation. With that out of the way I like this movie though it could've been far better imo. It's a definite step down from Bumblebee and the decission to bring in Unicron and the Maximals in one movie is a bit too much for a continuation of that small movie. I'd give it a 7/10, enjoyed the movie but many criticisms thrown against it is understandable.

From what I understood, Optimus was trying to get his family home and save his world at the expense of humanity to the hands of Unicron , I think that is what my problem was with this version of Optimus. That and his dislike of humanity in this film seemed like it was almost personal.

Humans were nearly responsible for killing humans, and almost helped the decepticons. Optimus views humans as a whole with a lot of distrust and negativity because of that, and perceives Charlie as simply an exception.

The Bay movie sequels suffered from being all over the place story concept wise and inability to progress the designs for transformer characters to the point they look like they had shiny chrome polish, addictions. Which really messed with the CGI elements blending in with the actual environment. IE: shiny sports cars in the desert, while trying not to get caught by the governments of the world and not losing your shiny luster, while battling in the desert etc..

10:30 I don't get the fans of Shia Labeouf and Megan Fox, I know I'm sounding like an A$$ here, but they are the weirdest awkward simple minded fans till this very day. I remember when I saw the TF AOE TV Spots, I was super stoked for the Dinobots and the hype they were bringing, but when I looked at the comments section, people were saying "Where's Shia Labeouf, I want him ", and if I'm not mistaken there's an interview of him with DOTM were he said that he's going to stop. Here's my bad review of the movie: It was basically two hours of wasted potential. So many of the ideas were set up and barely anything was done with them. Cheetor and Rhinox could have been actual characters. Airrazor could have had a robot mode. Instead of Bumblebee just coming back to life, what if Wheeljack had stayed out of the fight to monitor things, had seen Mirage and Noah merge, and get the idea to save BOTH Bumblebee and Airrazor by temporarily merging them? A callback to Tigerhawk. And then, instead of Optimus saying, 'We can't win by fighting them alone', and then fighting Scourge and beating him alone, can you fucking imagine how cool it would have been to see Prime and Primal combine into GODDAMN OPTIMAL OPTIMUS!?

Depends on the situation he's in. Prime only wanted to stop Scourge like the other Decepticons he fought, only to find out he's unlike anybot he's ever fought before. Combined with the fact that Scourge killed Bumblebee right in from of his optics, that's more than enough to fuel his hatred & vengeance when he meets Scourge again, in the name of Bee.

@@blametheghost That's because this Knightverse version is untrusting of humans because he related his experience with the Decepticons during his time on Cybertron. War trauma hits him hard here. Despite that, he had no intention of killing humans, let alone any other living species. If he had, he would've done so the moment he picked Noah up.

Optimus Prime was a Jerk in that film, does Optimus sound like a alien racist against humans? NO! he would always save another species over his home planet, say what you want about Bayverse Optimus prime but at least he had the personality of Optimus prime until a Decepticon was around.

His distrust towards humans isn't something that comes out of nowhere, it's something he has because he knows how humans were part of the reason the Decepticons nearly found the Autobots on Earth. Sure, Charlie was nice and friendly, and Optimus acknowledges this, but in his eyes, Charlie was just an exception. Him being a jerk to Noah, as strange as it sounds, is kind of acceptable in this scenario because he has no reason to think Noah or any kind of human has any kind of noble intentions. The whole film is literally built on him realizing that humans as a whole are a species worth saving, so I don't understand this complaint all that much.

@@snoot6629 War criminal is a realistic take on Optimus prime after Eno's of war he finally snapped when another species was facing extinction due to Megatron, sure it's not what Optimus prime symbolises ( G1 & IDW are the definitive ones ) but at least Michael Bay understood Optimus prime in 2007 film & Revenge of the Fallen even though that's the weakest film from the Original Trilogy.
