I'm grateful you two meet each other and decided to build MX Skill Shack. I'm liked,subscribed,and a member for the rest of the journey.The tech,tips are the best. Tony is a A1 mechanic imo. Can't wait to see all the great bikes you build together. And you guys are funny,I was lmao at the Canadian thing.😂

James! Thank you for the compliment. Also thanks to Charles for nudging me to come out of my cave (to aid in the 500 projects) and share some moto insight along with him to people much like yourself and others that have opened my eyes. It's been quite rewarding to do so and help others with the same dirt bike problems as us. It's neat as hell. Thank YOU for being apart of this with us. We legitimately cannot do it without you and our members. Strap in pal, cause things are going to get wild, awesome, and most likely weird. 🐘... Canadians are also neat. I'm from Minnesota so I can relate... Tony // MXSS

Yo..... Love getting up on Saturday morning and watching you guys put together my bike.😅 Since you got some early birds on here, I'm sure the answer is out there, but number 7 in 97 mx was kdub. His race in redbud was nothing but issues for him riding the 97. I actually rode amateur in washougal in 97 with the number 7, and the officials made my dad change the number to 127 with electrical tape. Lets just say the numbers had a hard time staying on... Great video guys love all the hard work and attention to detail you are giving this bike. Cant wait to watch the 250 video next week.

@MXSkillShack lol, yeah, I don't really remember why they made him do that, me being a teen and all really didn't care just wanted to race. That's awesome that you guys race there. I always thought that was one of the best places to race. That's being unfair since I only raced in Washington and Oregon 😂 anyway enough spaming your comments back to this video about a rm250 with a lectron pro series and that huge rain cloud 😅

Also I know with the Honda HPP 125 with the power valve governor, it has to be installed into the outer case cover first. Otherwise if you get it closed up with the governor installed in the engine case first which I have done it will keep the power valves locked open. So then it’s super lean sounding off the bottom with no power till top end. Took me forever yo figure out the issue. Thought it was jetting lol my bad!

You lose free play when the clutch heats up, not the opposite. 😅
@MXSkillShack
@MXSkillShack Ай бұрын
Lets think about what happens to the clutch throwout as the clutch expands at operating temperature. It's distance grows and the positive contact at the pressure plate becomes less with actuation, therefore the on the fly adjustment helps tighten up that tolerance and keep the contact and disengagement tight and where rider prefers. That's why you see many professional riders ALWAYS tightening the clutch on the start to combat the incoming change. Too tight, your clutch will slip and burn up. Too loose, your disengagement suffers. Tony // MXSS
@frontlinemedia4270
@frontlinemedia4270 Ай бұрын
@@MXSkillShack I guess I didn't qualify my answer. I meant free play on the plates. Most oem clutch fibers have a core of cast aluminum. This expands with heat, which makes them thicker. Most things expand with heat but aluminum has the greatest difference. I made a huge mistake one time getting ready for a 2 stroke shoot out. I wanted a good clutch and made a mistake buying Tusk, yea, I said it. Their fiber plates at the time had a core of sheet aluminum. In 125 pro class moto 1 the clutch was constantly changing on me. It would have a flapping level to a solid lever and It would change that fast. After the first moto I ripped it out and put in my used oem plates. Kessler and I got into a battle because of my clutch.
