This concept is more aligned with servant leadership. Transformational leadership is centred around organizational goals rather than team members from what I have understood up till now. I appreciate your ideas and the concept of 'transforming' transformational leadership.

Hey! I know this was 4 yrs ago, but I would love to contribute to what you said. I remember doing a workshop on all the different styles of leadership- and there happens to he a bit of overlap. To summarize what differs the two styles, Servant Leadership focuses so much on helping the people, and doing similar tasks that other members on the team are completing- Transformational styles does this as well, but only when necessary/appropriate. She didn't go into huge depth in this video, but other videos shine light on making their followers become leaders, by more so leading by example, being inspirational, and valuing the differences each member brings to the team. If Servant Leadership was done all the time, that would not be ideal for the person assigned the 'Leader' role, because they are too involved, and not focusing enough on the Leader specific tasks. Being medical in the US Air Force, I have seen both styles before in different Flight Chiefs. One was playing the Servant role too much, to where she was not seen as very authoritive, and spent too much time helping us physically with patients, etc- where as the Transformational Leader did this very rarely, and focused on solving issues within the clinic, and how to improve the environment/culture/systems involved in everyday work. Its not great for them to directly be serving their team constantly, cuz that time could be spent on bigger picture projects- if they had to step in for someone who is sick, instead of finding another solution- who is going to complete all those Flight Chief tasks that day? I feel like this was a bit of a tangent, but I hope that made some sense.

As a leader, whether elected or paid, it is your role to stand in the breech when something needs doing to keep things afloat; however, it is important to allow the people who need to follow feel part of the process. This is an excellent talk on how to do that, it is what Stephen R Covey calls the Third Alternative.

That was a complete waste of time. If you need any other similar tidbits of wisdom on leadership I recommend that you check out the Hallmark section of any bookstore...This is totally impractical and is firmly located on the "Feel Good Rainbow" of leadership.
