I truly love these videos, but I didn't realize how noisy they could be until this one ended and I suddenly thought I had gone deaf 😅

HAHAH Yeah This blower is very noisy. In addition to the flame shooting out. My neighbors must be wondering wtf is going on.

Yoooo so I copied this and gave it a shot! Waste diathermic oil! I mixed 1pt diathermic to 1pt motor oil! Lit it in no time with a gas station torch and melted the far side wall out of the can. Cannot stress enough how fantastic it works ! I ended up making a brick box to surround it to accommodate that but it is what it is. New favorite heating chamber. I plan on doing steel melts every oil change now. Not sure where to get a sustainable diathermic source though as I happened to have a broken radiator heater

That's awesome! Yeah I need to do that to get mine to light faster 😂 My can that I attach to it is stainless steel and has Ceramic wool surrounding it. If it can melt steel it will probably melt that too, haha. Good Luck!

With the tuyere aligned radially rather than tangentially, this furnace would be a crucible killer. But it'll make a nice little direct melt scrapping furnace once you get the lighting procedure dialed in. 👍

Lol totally a crucible killer! I built it for a bulk melter since it has a hole in the bottom. I am going to build a propane/oil burner like you did and use it for my old furnace.

I've found adding a few pieces of metal in side the chamber helps in building heat, removing the need for the wood,

@@HeinrichsMade I have a few videos of me starting up mine. under Smelting with BloodlessKitty. takes about five minutes to heat up the steel pieces then start adding the oil, give it afew minutes then cut the propane. I tried wood, paper and such just either took forever to start up or wouldn't at all that beside all the sparks flying everywhere.

Heinrich's my setup i have the furnace and inside i put a pipe which feeds my oil and airflow from behind. But my pipe is plastic and at rear end just infront of hairdyer fan. The hairdryer itself didnt work only the fan. So my fan i taped onto a metal funnel shape not sure what they call it. It screws onto the pipe. I also use gravity feed for oil. I use old oil can with oil in and also valve to regulate amount of oil flow. When my flames are big enough i will usually add bit more oil and switch the fan on. So my oil itself burns in the furnace. It takes me about 30min to get it running nicely. You can also check theres a video of a guy who build like a injector or used an old one with a air compressor at back so the oil sprays out in mist form. He ignites it instantly and it burns like freaken jet. But here i must have stuff running off gas and fan off a battery since we have loadshedding. Reason i use waste oil ia cause my burner for gas wasnt correct. So i must either buy or build new one.

Yeah, I've seen combo burners. They start with propane to get the furnace hot. Once it is red they turn off the propane and use just the oils. I plan on building one. I've seen them with a nozzle and an air compressor. I don't want to do it that way. I'd rather just gravity it and use my blower.

NOBOX7 makes some crazy burners. He says synthetic oil is really tough to get going. cut in some gasoline (20% or so) to use as a starter mix. switch back to just oil after its running.

Adding a little bit of fuel treatment to the initial starting oil will make it easier to get started. Just a couple of cap fulls nothing crazy

O yeah i usually also soak a old piece of cloth in oil and leave it in before i start fire. As temp rises oil begins to burn. Too much oil then you more smoke. But man! That thing roars. And when your balance is right. Less smoke
@HeinrichsMade

funny, I actually though about doing that. I just did want a ton of smoke coming out of the burner.

Your startup procedure needs some work. But you got it lit. Now to get better control over the flame control. Going to need a larger oil feed...lol Next time you light it, add some newspaper into the bottom and then kindling, Add more paper to the top, but this time use some oil or other low-volatile fuel to the mix. Vegetable oil works to get it to flame easily. Once you get the fuel added, fire it up. then slowly add the air to it once the fire is going. Fire time should be around 5 minutes start to fire. As soon as I get time I'll send you new vid on my startup. Also, you should get some pavers under your work area, saves having to patch the drive...lol Not going to tell the Greenie Weenies just how clean this actually is burning, they can't understand.

Thanks Don! I definitely need some work on my startup. Next time I fire it up, I'll use the tips that you and others have told me. I look forward to seeing your startup video 👍👍

Your air has to wide of span a 1"pipe adaptation from your air supply to a few inches from your oil drip should atomize the oil and urn hotter and cleaner. A few lumps of charcoal along with your forced air ought to get the temperature up to run. Im not clear why you feel the need for the other tank. A six kilos size crucible will keep you busy. I take that back. The other tank would be excellent for preheating.

Interesting 🤔. I actually don't know why I made the inlet pipe so long. I'm going to make a burner for my old furnace to melt metal in crucibles. That other tanks purpose is to just melt down large items. I'll perfect it 🔥🔥🔥
