Very nice Video 👍 I like your KZbin Channel and watch every new Video I have a question: Is it possible to make a Windows XP/2k Installation with a .wim file, so that I can Install Windows XP/ W2k using WDS? Have a nice day By, Leon from Germany

I have not had time to properly look into this. I do have it on my to-do-list though!

Interesting. One of my Vaio laptops is also a Yonah-based system.

Typically, Thin Clients are designed for businesses to remote into a server mainframe that can handle the extraneous load that comes with modern applications. So I’m rather curious how a machine of such low spec would handle as a NAS for interfacing with retro machines? Would help to have a centralized place for not just old programs but games also.

Generally speaking, thin client builds won't have a lot of storage. That is the main foreseeable issue. The low end graphics card will be limiting on what you can do on the PC itself but it's CPU should be sufficient to function as a NAS and I would assume the NIC is decent if it has to remote into another system for its primarily functions. Have you had any luck with thin clients in the past?

@@adventuresinnostalgia That’s true, they won’t have removable racks for expandable storage but they still can be upgraded to higher capacities since most already contain a boot drive. The laptop featured in the video was rather low-spec, so rather than go into the realm of unfamiliarity with a lightweight Linux distro, it makes sense to get the most out of what it’s capable of with a “Thin PC” build of Windows since realistically speaking that’s what the hardware is comparable to: a Thin Client. I don’t personally have such a setup, but considering how many I’ve seen use shared folders in VMs for essentially the same purpose I wonder how that’d translate to actual hardware considering the alternative use case would be essentially a netbook in a growing digital age of tablet computers.

Would you recommend installing this on PCs that already have good hardware? Would there be a noticeable difference on something like an HP 8770W with 16GB Ram and quad core i7?
@adventuresinnostalgia2 жыл бұрын
It would be faster than regular Windows 7, but I don't recommend it because it's geared towards pos systems and uses write filtering

@@adventuresinnostalgia Ok thanks. I also want to ask you - Do you have plans to make another Windows 7 ISO after the last BypassESU updates have been issued?

Hey why only Chromium Browsers what about Firefox its fast and lightweight compared to them all
@adventuresinnostalgia2 жыл бұрын
It's personal preference. I just like Edge better
@ellenorbjornsdottir1166 Жыл бұрын
Firefox is not lightweight. It uses about half the resources the Chrome Dome does.
