I would use Quad 9 DNS since it has better malware protection when it comes down to antivirus I would use Bitdefender free. if you want a system that still gets security updates maybe look into Linux Mint

Unattended installs are great, but I wish someone would slipstream all the XP security updates, I.E. 8, and Windows Media Player 10 onto an iso...I know, I ask too much...

In the "Apply" section from the left navigation bar, check for "Reapply tasks across editions". Make sure to mark the checkboxes next to any changes you want applied to both (all) editions. Note: Do not check the box for "Remove nonessential editions".

I switched from Adblock Premium to Ublock Origin because ads started getting through. It'll probably happen with Ublock too eventually, and Adblock Premium will probably update their system so now it works again. KZbin is aware of ad blockers and is constantly changing things to get around them. The same thing happens with KZbin downloaders.

I have used xp in my recording studio for many years , I have found the best way is to get the system working and then disconnect from the internet completely. Never let your computers ever "talk" to the internet again.

Im sure you could safely have an old school "LAN Party" with Windows XP systems and be adequately safe. As long as there isn't a connection to the internet, if you get a virus that way... The call is coming from inside the house.

Is there a petition to allow access to your digital library from any operating system? If not, there needs to be! If the minimum requirements say "Windows 98" I should be able to use the platform to download and install the game from a Windows 98 system.

Yes, the edition doesn't matter. The CPU type does though. If I recall correctly, the steps outlined in the video do not work for the 32-bit version of Vista.

The only reason I'm running Windows 7 is I like it that's one also like Windows XP but my computer I just got is Acer and supports Windows 7 Windows 10 is a no-go I am installed graphics card and the taskbar messes up couple icons on the taskbar keeps disappearing so I put Windows 7 back on it

If I recall correctly, each version of Windows has a cap on memory usage. i think was 4gb on xp, no matter how much ram you have.

It's not the version of Windows that has a hard limit so much as the CPU type. A 32-bit System does have a hard limit at 4 GB of ram

I recently installed XP Pro SP3 on a Dell portable. Lightning fast. For fast web browsing I just needed to install IE8 then POSReady for TLSV1.1 and TLSv1.2. Install Firefox then change its User Agent so websites don't find out it's XP.

In Jan 2020, I was able to install 64-bit Windows 7 SP1 on an 8-core Ryzen 7 2700X desktop PC. This was using an MSI X470 Gaming Pro motherboard, one of the last to provide downloadable driver support for Windows 7. The only system hardware I was unable to find a Win7 driver for were the USB-C ports, which are easy to work around via USB-3 adapters. This CPU/motherboard combo is still available for purchase online.

I worry about viruses on all versions of Windows. The difference with XP is that I don't keep any sensitive data on the system. If I were to get a virus then it would just be time to reinstall windows XP :)

I used XP for all of Janusry because my main pc exploded I used a version of fully up to date chrome to access the internet and had an anti-virus installed and it was fine, sluggish but fine. All modern sites worked

@adventuresinnostalgia Yep! It was smooth on games too. 2000 was actually similar to NT3.51 in the way it was never marketed/targeted to the public. Just corp. I had Autopatcher running doing offline updates and life was great.
