Exciting progress on the north side LRT extension!!! One step closer to the future bridge over the CN Rail-yard!!

Actually, the station construction is complete, it's not yet open to the public as there is pretty much no development in the area. This event was a tour of the station for up to 250 transit supporters in order to celebrate the launch of a transit advocacy group called "Edmonton Transit Riders". The group arranged this event and distributed a limited amount of tickets online.

Oh yes I can’t wait until this bridge construction is shut down due to NOT allowed to crossed Private property? The city knows it can’t go over private land? Educate yourself instead of being part of the ignorant socialists the are in Edmonton!

This is Amazing Nico!

Thank you, Brian! A friend actually told me about this event in September and told me to order a ticket. It was a lot of fun getting to see a station that is not yet active and learning about how to make transit better for everyone. There were even ETS inspectors on site telling us cool stuff about the LRT which was pretty interesting as well. -Transit Emperor

That is probably *the* most intriguing videos i’ve ever seen in my 2 plus years of watching your channel. Exploring the pre-opened Blatchford Gate station is the definition of: “going beyond.” I’ll most definitely be returning to the Metro Line (after more than 5 years) and exploring BOTH NAIT/Blatchford Market and Blatchford Gate when Blatchford Gate eventually opens.

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed this special feature! It will still be a bit of time until Blatchford Gate opens to the public since there's pretty much nothing in the surrounding area but once the station does open, it will be the final step before the Metro Line eventually crosses the CN Walker Yard on it's way to St. Albert. Of course, that obviously won't happen for quite a while but we can most certainly hope it happens in my lifetime!

The LRT line that goes past WEM is currently being built as we speak and it's made some pretty good progress in 2024. Don't worry, it is coming!

The Valley Line West is currently in its construction phase at the moment, but once its open, it will successfully connect the West Edmonton Mall, and the Misercordia Hospital. It’ll hopefully be open by 2027 and 2028.

@@westfieldplayz Let's just hope it doesn't get delayed like the first phase between Mill Woods and Downtown did. I know they chose a different contractor to build the VLW, so fingers crossed!

Unfortunately, no. This was simply a private tour of the station for 250 registered individuals in order to celebrate the launch of a transit advocacy group.

@@TransitEmperor4774Oh great another NGO that will try to shove their ideology down our throats! But yet not one mention of how fares DON’T actually reflect the cost of transit which by city numbers which they can’t actually track ridership? No more taxpayer funded transit until fares reflect cost!
