You need time for efficient strides especially in a crossover situation. Younger guys won't get it.

For anyone watching this vid, I believe the ability for this transition between crossovers is predicated upon GOOD, OPEN hip mobility. There is a happy medium to be had where strength meets moibility, where there's less resistance encountered and a greater amount of strength can be utilized, and less is needed to make an impact. Off ice fitness will carry you far! What are y'all's thoughts?
@sat0ro3757 ай бұрын
Aussie rink rat here. You would be right more or less. What he is doing is basically a mohawk but the other way so it's a bit harder balance and mobility wise. And the strengths meets mobility is also very correct! To get used to that movement, good hip mobility is a MUST. The only thing you're missing is precision. When doing it so fast without any pauses and with such power, having the precision to put your blade in not only the right place, but also at the right angle and direction in such a short amount of time is so challenging. But yeah the strength to do it like that is so crazy. That's my thoughts on it haha
@PalpitoMcCray4 ай бұрын
There's no Mohawk applied here. At all. He uses his inside edge to transition from backward to forward but he absolutely 100% does not ride on his inside edge at all and that is by no means a Mohawk. Also, proper mohawks are the same technique in both directions, so I'm really confused as to what a mohawk "the other way" means?? @@sat0ro375
