Last night I stumbled across your channel and for the next couple of hours enjoyed taking in the view of the French country side and watching you and your husband take a room in disrepair and turning it into something beautiful. You are such a lovely person. I look forward to seeing more of your Vlogs.

Thank you so much for your comment. I always edit out minutes of driving because I think people will find it too boring to watch...

We share the love of nature and the simple life. Would you make a video of some of the things you would have done different when moving to France and restoring an old home?

What a shame that you had to postpone your Luberon trip, it’s also beautiful there this time of year!
@FrenchCountryLife3 жыл бұрын
I know!!! I have been looking in my calendar to find a few days to still go but we just have so many projects going on both for the renovations and for the things I do for my boys’ school that I can’t really find a few days. But Luberon isn’t going anywhere so I will definitely go there as soon as I can.

I love the two deer paintings. Could you elaborate for me: where are they from? I enjoy your channel too and absolutely love your charming videos, and you are also natural and charming, and have curly hair like me.

Thank you for the lovely comment! The paintings are Ikea! They still sell them here in France. I don’t know where in the world you are but do check your local Ikea!

I've loved our trips to France, but am so sadly not able to understand the language, at least not to speak.

Never too old to learn! My friend teaches French classes, she's the friend you see in the videos where we're driving in the 2CV and the vintage van. She's wonderful

@@FrenchCountryLife thank you for such a thoughtful reply. I've used Duolingo to learn French but unfortunately my attempts to repeat words is mostly met with, "I didn't understand that". :-)

@@judymooney2993 duolingo is great, especially to start getting more familiar with the language. But nothing can replace real and tailored private lessons or living in the country and being forced to speak the language every day! Just pick it back up or watch French tv shows for children. KZbin offers great free videos that i showed my children when we decided to move (which was a very spontaneous last minute decision with zero preparation). It helped them learn a few words and to get used to the vibe and sounds of the language. We only had 3 weeks to prep and it was the only thing I could do to make their first day at school a little more comfortable. They both speak English as well but only one teacher in the entire primary school they went to did, so that didn’t really work… Just keep going!

I wish to speak in Dutch. My ancestors came from Breskens, Zeeland and from Ouden Aarde, Vlaandere, way back in the 1700's when they came to live in Kaap de Goede Hoop (South Africa).... My DNA is actually 50% Dutch & French but I can't speak any of the 2 languages, only Afrikaans, which sound like an old Dutch (they've told me) and English. I so which to connect with my origin, the languages, culture, etc. Love your channel, it touches my heart. Corrie van den Berg
